Anyone ever deal with this seller.
I bought two items from them because the pics showed the coins possibly may be DOUBLE DIES.
When I received the coins there was not any doubling like there pics showed,
So I gave them a call and talked to someone there about what I saw on there ebay pics.
They tried to tell me it was my monitor. ????
I told them I was going to send the coins back, Which I did and they refunded MY money.
Problem fixed.
about 3 weeks later I go to bid on one of there auctions and a box comes up saying the seller will not except my bid.
I try to ask the question why and another box came up saying I can't ask a question.
I have had good luck with this seller in the past, and just because I return 2 items , they BLOCK ME ?????
What kind of business practice is this.

I expect that they prefer to not do business with cherrypickers that choose to return coins after they didn't get what they thought they saw.
You probably sealed the deal with your phone call.
I'm just sayin..........

I have never had an issue with this seller, and sometimes their photo's aren't great, but they're better than most other sellers.
auctions were canceled.
iT WAS MONEY OUT OF MY POCKET RETURNING THE COINS THAT WERE NOT LIKE THE PICS SHOWN.
Again I have had good luck and no issues with this seller in the past !

If it were a coin shop, it would be less of a trouble.

Do you have a link to the auction?
As a cherrypicker myself, if I buy a coin on eBay that I think is a nice variety, and I get it and it turns out NOT to be what I thought, I stillkeep the coin. It was my fault, not the sellers. If the coin is as described, I see no reasont o return it. You, on the other hand, should really reconsider your business practices in this regard.
I have, by the way, had the exact same problem with Heritage auction photos. As a result of getting stuck with coins that didn't turn out to be the doubled dies that I was sure the photos showed, I took a vow to never buy anything that I didn't see in person first. Haven't had any repeat disappointments since then.
and apparently , you crossed a threshold with them

Actually, it cost them in packaging, handling, inventory control and now relisting. Most folks whine and cry if they they have to pay $3.00 in shipping charges which cost a seller $5.00.
Every cancelled transaction costs something.

I CHOOSE not to sell to people all the time. Various reasons and not just with coins I'll add. But for your reason I would do just the same as the Ebay seller did.. No harm no foul.... goes both ways... lifes a beach!
Maybe they weren't blocking you personally, but the monitor you were using to view their coins. Save them some money, save you some trouble.
Pictures are not enough, there are reflections and shadows.
Sometimes you get it right but not all the time.
This was one of those times.
The Variety collectors out there know what I'm saying.

Did they describe the coin as a variety it wasn't? Or did you think it was a variety that wasn't advertised as such, and it turned out not to be?
Sorry, man...not much sympathy for you. I'd block you also.

Even if it doesn't cost anything, they still spent time dealing with it. Time is important.
Did they allude to the possible doubling in any way in the listing?
bought two items from them because the pics showed the coins "POSSIBLY" may be DOUBLE DIES.
Thats a risk you took and was not implied by the seller. Sour grapes.. get over it.. BTW. .why would you want to buy from a seller that you imply is doctoring photos? Your upset that they called you on it and started this thread to try to flame them.. well looks like most here dont see it the way you do.. Oh well...I guess you spilled your milk!
They did not advertise the coin as a variety.
metalsman : I DID NOT IMPLY THEY WERE DOCTORING PICS !
Whats really the difference if you have a no question return policy,
Maybe I just didn't like the coin once in hand.
I tried to be up front with them and told them that the pics were deceiving and it looked to me like there was doubling in the pics.

<< <i>I would have to agree. If you bought a coin from me and then called me to tell me you wanted to return it, because it was not the doubled die you hoped YOU cherrypicked, I would probably block you, too.

The actual difference or the effective one? If the latter- nothing, I guess.

Kudos for being upfront in saying that you were trying to cherrypick them, but the downside is that sellers are not obligated to continue to allow you to do so. Of course, you know this already, don't you...
erikso 1 : I talked with several people about the coins before I made a bid.
They saw the same thing I saw.
So Its not my $300 monitor.
Unless those people had the same exact monitors.... da da da duuhhhh...
(I'm just jesting. I hope it works out. Tecc has been pretty quality in their dealings with me but so has the board. I'd hate to be split).
Point Taken, Lesson Learned.
Believe me I have eaten quite a few mistaken buys.
You know its funny ,I have gone to coin shows where the dealers don't care anything about varieties .
They say to me if you find something don't worry we won't charge you any extra .

Some do, some don't. I know at least one dealer who wouldn't tolerate you tying up a space at his table looking for cherrypicks. Apparently, the eBay seller you encountered is like that.

As I stated earlier Mark, you should have never mentioned the monitor thing and simply returned the coins. A no questions asked return policy is exactly that BUT if the buyer reveals the reason for the return, then the seller can take appropriate action.
Kinda like don't ask/don't tell. As long as the buyer doesn't say anything then its simply a return, but as soon as a buyer admits that "it looked like a doubled die" and then implies that the sellers photo's are deceiving, its a whole different ballgame since, to the seller, it implies a problem buyer. Regardless of the motives.

So you returned the coin because of something you saw in an image you created yourself that didn't turn out to be what you thought it was?
<< <i>I would give an auction # , but then My ebay idenity would be known and I would be blocked by more sellers.
Info in picture you gave is enough to find auction in a couple of minutes. I will not post link and I do not think many would block you either way.

Maybe it was the statement about thier pics being "deceiving" that made them block you just a thought

see there, you did it again!!!
Cherrypicking coins via eBay pictures can be fun but has it's risks. looks to me like you only want to win and at the game and are having a tough time accepting this defeat. move on already. the seller in question has a very good reputation, i know them personally and suspect they are just trying to avopid problems in the future. for all we know, this may not be the time this has happened with you or another buyer and experience has taught TECC to block.

When you base your purchase(s) on photos from an online source, you get what you pay for. There is an option on eBay auction and BIN listings for you to ask the seller questions before you place a bid or purchase the item, such as do you have larger clearer photos of the item as I think I see something I want to be sure of before I bid/buy.
