Depth vs. Detail

Which do you prefer on coins?

Personally, I prefer a strike so deep it might hold water. Especially on older proofs that are so deep the fields look watery.

    Between the two, I'll vote for detail. Some of the older coins in the late die states can look deep, the detail will be lacking. You get grades for detail.
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals.
