1873-CC Trade $ in fake Pcgs slab?

TennesseeDaveTennesseeDave Posts: 4,895 ✭✭✭✭✭
I saw this Pcgs XF-45 1873-CC Trade $ for sale on E-bay from a seller in China. It looked suspect so I looked up the cert.# on Pcgs website. It matched ,so I went to Heritage archives and found the REAL 1873-CC that sold in 2007.Below are links to both coins.I hope no one gets burned.

I noticed that listing as soon as it was put up on ebay last night. How many red flags does one listing have to have before no one bids? I hope it goes without sale.

    Look at the PCGS label.

    It's all bent and twisted!!

    RFR!! (run Forrest run)

"“Those who sacrifice liberty for security/safety deserve neither.“(Benjamin Franklin)

This is always fun and probably more effective than reporting the auction. (Not that we shouldn't report the auction)
  • The seller sold this coin a couple of days ago linky and they are using another ebay sellers image to sell a CC Seated Dollar.

  • saw that and I feel stuff like that keeps Trade dollar prices depressed esp on Ebay, which I am ok with. Also to add the one cone10 linked to is clearly a fake too, people who don't know these shouldn't buy them with out a dealers help or excess money to burn.

Not sure who is getting the biggest disservice from the association, him or GSC. Both are kind of scummy.

Reported to eBay with the link to the Heritage auction.

  • I also reported to ebay.

Here's the PCGS link to report such items: Jaime Hernandez <JHernandez@collectors.com>

Don't report these to Ebay. If they involve PCGS let them deal with it the right way!
