Another reason why pics should be mandatory. OK not mandatory, but would help to avoid confusion

While pictures are nice, they shouldn't be mandatory.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

UMMMM I think the buyer of the first rolls would not have gotten confused and so worked up if they couldve seen that the seller was not selling the SAME Lot. That is, assuming the seller would not have use a "stock" picture. I have yet to sell anything here sight unseen. When I have tried, I had to either post pics here or email them. Just be honest with your damn selves for once and admit that I'm right. People want to see pictures of what they are, potenitally, laying out a lot of $ for. It's always the same old bunch here disagreeing. Must be hell being you always being so confrontational.
<< <i>Never seen a roll of roosevelt silver dimes before
I've got 3.....all OBW...bought on ebay from another forum member (Dave99B) and all toned on the ends.
Bought another, almost full, roll from a local dealer a few years ago as he had the OBW but had just opened them to start selling as 1-offs.
They're out there.

Nah....I've seen enough drama that I doubt even pics would have helped this one.

I don't understand what pictures have to do with it or why you started this thread in the US Coin Forum.
LOL! Now that I will agree with you LOL!!!!! It's just amazing.

I agree that pictures are always desirable. And there is no downside to a little effort on the part of the seller.
Unfortunately, we're about to hear a lot of contrary opinions from those who sell in quantity to those who can't shoot decent photos.
Lance.
I guess, to those thinking of selling to the OP (I've got 2 10 oz bars, 2 1/2 rolls of ASE's to go up on the BST, but imaging a mint tube, and accepting $1.30 under spot, AND cover shipping/del confirm/insurance???), you must be prepared to accept less than anyone except those hotel buyers, as well as take time to image every item. Would that mean an image of each dime in a roll of 50?

I agree also, if it's a collectible coin, or slabbed....but ...........
<< <i>The referenced deal looks like a matter of poor communication.

+1....just trying to stir the pot for no reason....poor form IMHO.
I vote against the proposal.
Good communication is mandatory
Many members on this forum that now it cannot fit in my signature. Please ask for entire list.
<< <i>Another reason why pics should be mandatory... >>
How about this- if you want pictures and the seller doesn't provide any, you skip his listing and go on to the next.
You're welcome.
ok ok, maybe mandatory is over the top and NO im not trying to stir the pot. What mkman123 said is more of what I guess I had intended to convey. So I'll now revise my statement to say exactly what they said:
pictures shouldn't be mandatory though pictures would be great. Good communication is mandatory
I say in the referenced thread: "If you can get more, God bless you." If you couldve gottten more, AT THAT TIME, more f'in power to you. If anyone is paying ACTUAL melt for 90%, I have a 2 1/2 bags i'd like to sell you.
I guess you can make pics MANDATORY when you are a significant owner of PCGS and can make the rules....until then it is what is.
Since you apparently are a Steelers fan, no hard feelings - let's get Big Ben back in the lineup!
<< <i>If you think im asking for all 600 coins to be imaged individually, you really need to get a grip on things. In a Lot of 600 coins, simply take a picture of all 600 in a pile or stacked. >>
If they're all in a pile or stacked, how can you be sure they're what the seller says thay are? You can't- you have to trust him.
Why is that any different than not having a picture in the first place?
Also, check your 'buy' thread....doesn't seem like I'm the only one that thinks your requests are out of line. I also NEVER said ONE WORD about paying actual spot.....perhaps you should learn to read, not just between the lines.
Likewise, Im more than sure. Like I said, if you can do better, more power to ya bud. My buy prices are always current and very fair as evidenced by scores of transactions here in the short time ive been here, not to mention nearly 8k transactions on eBay ,which I dont do anymore (FEES drover me away to find other venues)
<< <i>maybe you guys need to take the time to read my revisions? It's a dead horse now. Except for the part about anyone paying actual melt values for 90% silver.
Retail buyers, and 80%+ forumites buy at retail, are paying over melt for their 90% at other venues. Why wouldn't they pay that when dealing with other forumites? If you want to offer your wholesale buy prices go ahead, but don't think for a moment that retail buyers won't pay full melt, or even a bit above, especially for half dollars, especially for mercs, walkers or older coins. Plenty of folks are moving their better 90% at full melt and sometimes above. Sounds like you are wrong on that one too
<< <i>Yes- rules. We need more rules. Then everything will be better. >>
As long as you treat every buyer the same as you like to be treated as a buyer there's no need for any additional rules.
Communication throughout the entire transaction is the key.
but want to limit their exposure for each sale to, say $1000
would they take a pic of all 100 rolls and say - you are getting 12 rolls
or take a pic of each grouping they have to sell?
confusion starts on BST when sellers do not have a asking price but are looking for offers or best offers
and then decide after a few days if they really want to sell the item
confusion is multiplied doing this when they are selling metals that are very volatile and could move over 5% in a day
many a good eBay sellers have gone bad selling gold they do not have in hand in a very volatile market
<< <i>Yes- rules. We need more rules. Then everything will be better. >>
...
and it should be mandatory to put a loupe up to the monitor for closer inspection

Then I relax a bit and realize this is moralizing.
It will pass.

I don't think pictures would have helped at all on this BST thread.
The BST thread in question
Perhaps the real problem is just this.
