Hard to tell from your images, but at first glance I would say no grade.

Looks original and uncleaned so I would say they should grade it. Looks AU55 from your pics.

I can't see any reason why they won't grade it, but I'm trying to judge from a picture, which can be risky. If the brighter spots are mint luster, it will probably grade in the AU range.

I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    Why would you think no-grade?

Xf to AU? I see barely any wear on it. Why possibly XF, Rick?

If a coin hasn't been dipped, Rick subtracts one or two grades.image

AU55 or better and gradable imo. If those are planchet streaks/divots on the reverse running digonally through the star field it could get bagged depending on the severity. Though at this grade level a rim bang would cause a no grade before mint made issues. Looks like a pleasing coin for an early N'Orleans issue.

Possibly due to the scratch on the lower portion of the face. It will depend on the depth of the scratch, it may be more (or less) obvious at different lighting angles.
If it grades I would say AU50.

I agree with the au50 grade, and I think it will grade from the pics.

yes, this 51-o comes from the hoard of buried gold coins . the 52-o $20 and 41-c $5 have been sold and are going to be submitted for grading soon.

I would not rule out a low MS grade.

I say it has a shot at grading, but the real question is the story. Any details on how long it was buried and where it was dug? Was it like a treasure hunt?

I would have bought the 41-c from the other thread, it looked cool as is.

@Mark - Looks like some severe scatches on the face, and in front of the face. The color doesn't look right to me either, but as I said it's hard to tell from the photos...
