I've been following this thread and a couple of other related ones, And I'd like to say thank you to the devoted knowledgeable Collectors and or Dealers who take the time to expose frauds such as this. I've been collecting probably 5 years or so now and would not have bought from a seller such as shtterbug8 nowadays, But 3 or 4 years ago I can definitely see myself being taken by such a scam. So keep up the good work you are doing the hobby a great service.
I can see EBAY exstinct in the not to distant future. I welcome that day. MJ
Walker Proof Digital Album Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
I hope this guy gets locked up for what he has been doing. There is no way he did that all by mistake. He bought the fakes and sold the fakes. Its so obvious, just look at that line he writes at the end of the auction!

"Soap on a rope" LOFL I like the way you think NotSure.
I'm sure "Hartmen" is done on ebay after all this. The question will remain as to what new ebay handle he will pop up with. I'd like to suggest "Cromag". It goes with that great manicure, but it doesn't matter because someone here will find it and blast him again. We'll be watching very close.
I mentioned it elsewhere ... maybe earlier in this thread ... but I think the authorities need to start making some arrests and giving people some jail time
A few examples would be nice ... and a little publicity to go along with it
This is fraud, plain and simple ... and using conterfiet US coinage to boot ... federal offenses

LOL ... man, I'm not sure I want to know
reminds me of my USN days ... we had a way of taking care of "our own" when they stepped out of line too far ... a serious blanket party and in his case, then a toss into a cold shower with a green scrubbie to clean up and mend the wounds

I vote for incomptant dullard. The guy is, at best, a tool.
By the way, shtterbug8 / hartmen, whine all you want to eBay Trust and Safety. I know that I, along with many of the other eBay Powersellers, have already contacted our eBay reps. I'll never message you again through eBay - I'll just report EVERY ONE of your fraudulent auctions through the eBay approved process. No auction interference there. Now knock your crap off.
Absolutely not guys, not bnb. I just communicate with the kid on eBay. Plus he's not really a bad guy dare I say, it's that you guys like giving him a hard time. I mean the kid went to bat for that collector who got scammed by this jerk. He didn't have to do that and yet some of you still mock him? Anywho, let's not take away from the point of the thread and go bash the kid again. It's sad when you know he's not that bad of a guy but he gets the rap of a criminal just like this criminal hartmen being talked about here.
Ask Illini420, PennyLady, Glenn, Blue2Vette, Me, and other people who have been around the kid at shows and they'll all tell you he's not a guy deserving the hate he gets here.
so you only "communicated" with the "kid bnb" but you you know all the people that bnb supposedly met at coin shows? Seems like you know alot more about this bnb person then your disclosing...
So who are you again? I got way lost trying to to follow coinhunter talking to hartmen (talking to yourself?)

I've met him at shows and I'll leave it at that.
It's honestly not about me. Figure the more you focus on things outside the topic, the more you let this guy Hartmen get a free pass.
<< <i>I guess I'm too new not to be confused now. >>
Let me make it clear and then I am out. I am not bnb. i simply know him through ebay and local coin shows. my name is Jeremy.
I do not understand why he gets so much hate here. its so dumb. Ryguy, Hartmen committed a crime. bnb did not. he should not be grouped together with that guy. i do not know why i am even mentioned in that.
what's become evident is that bnb is getting a very bad shake here and i hope the truth prevails one day for the guy. he has many supporters(but they choose to remain mum) and he has many critics. i ask that the supporters(people like i) come out and share the truth about him and not stay silent due to fear of ostracision.

lol, i said that last paragraph was it but this is it.
i support him because i can't sit back and watch him get an online beatdown when i have talked to the guy, had lunch with the guy, even traded with the guy and he is completely 180 from what some of you make him out to be. i admire people who take chances and yes, bnb does do that a lot but he is no way a bad guy for doing it nor does he deserve all this crap against him.
hartmen is a full fledged criminal. he commited fraud and i hope thethat jerk gets prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. bnb and hartmen are like apples and oranges. not of the same. night!
by the way guys, the more we focus on bnb and throw crap at him, the more we let Hartmen off the hook. notice how the thread changed to a anti-bnb thread and not continued for the sole main purpose it was created, which is to defame, identify, and bring this Hartmen guy to the ground.
1- new member coinhunter introduces bnb into the thread out of left field
2) newer member Hartmen- chirps in and say's he's shutterbutt8. I have my doubts
3) Both Hartmen/coinhunter attempt to make bnb look him some sort of coin hero. Complete with links to his bnb site, smooth operators you guys
4) At times coinhunter sounds like bnb is channeling him. Mostly he sounds just like bnb
5) coinhunter defends bnb to the forum and is basically obsessed with him.
coinhunter, how do you know bnb gets so much hate here? He's been kicked off this site for a long time. You've been here what, three months? So you were never on this site with him at the same time. Why the bond. FYI- He has been barely mentioned here at all the past several months. No one cares. Well except you. bnb craves attention and this thread gave it him. He needed alts/santa's helpers etc to pull it off and it looks like he got it. As in most bnb threads there are two commen denominators. 1) hijack a thread 2) increase the thread count by responding to every posters obveration. Team bnb style.
coinhunter may or may not be bnb but it really doesn't matter much. A little entertainment never hurt anybody

Oh the drama.....can we get back to outing the fake seller now. LOL Thanks for the cliff notes version though. I was really getting lost there for a while.
I contacted the buyer of the fake chain cent the other day to let him know it was counterfeit but never heard back. Hopefully he will take action against shtterbug8. The buyer's Ebay ID is lorellb2006 and they left positive feedback.

After leaving positive feedback, what avenues does the buyer have to recoup, besides legal action (would the credit card co. stand by the card holder, after leaving pos feedback, assuming he used a CC)? Paypal won't help once positive feedback has been left, will they?
