"Coinstar" Question.... look what I found.........

I thought I recalled a thread earlier where someone stated that Coinstar or other coin machines reject silver coins due to their not weighing the same as current clad coinage. Does my memory serve me correctly?
The reason I ask is my good fortune today at my local bank's coin counting machine, of all places............. I dumped in my spare change (none of which was silver), and when I checked the rejects slot for the few fused or scratched pennies that fell out, there were also 2 silver Roosie's! Not mine! (at least not until THEN!
)
They were slightly-darkened 1962 & 1963D. My first silver in quite a while!
Any thoughts on this phenomenon?
