Rim ding - thumbs up or thumbs down???

Check out my 1807 half below. There is a rim issue between 3:00 and 4:00 on the obverse. What do you think? Is it egregious enough to knock it down to a Genuine slab? Or is it minor enough to pass? I'm trying to learn, here. FWIW, it is in the hands of the graders now. It used to reside in a PCI slab but the details seemed to merit a good shot at upgrading, so I cracked it out.

The rim ding doesn't bother me that much.
If it makes it into PCGS plastic, I'd expect a net grade for the ding and the surfaces. However, I would wager the coin comes back Genuine.
Hoping I'm wrong & wishing you good luck...Mike

I think it's a 50-50 shot, best of luck to you!

In that case, if the bump is the only issue I could see it getting into a graded holder.

We'll use our hands and hearts and if we must we'll use our heads.
However. the coin appears to have been over-dipped and is re-toning not so nicely -- has kind of an "AT" look. Probably a Genuine holder.
That being said, it certainly looks better than when it was white. Would be a nice example for a raw type set.
I could live with the color, and the ding.
Color isn't horrible, afterall it's 203 years old.
Only the coin knows how the toning occurred.

I think more like then not the rim ding with result in a genuine slab.

The big problems for this coin are the ring ding, the cleaning and the possible artificial toning. As such, this is more of an album coin than a slab coin. I don't think that it's worth sending in, but the owner has the last call.
