I ran across this auction, and after viewing the pictures provided I felt there would be differing thoughts on the grade. I am very interested in hearing from all, but please make a note if your an ASE collector, i-e qualified to make an assesment image

I am not interested in buying it, but this is for general knowledge as I would like to start collecting MS & Proof ASE's

    Ridiculous price. I have a PCGS encapsulated '95 W ASE (Not 70). Even at 70, I do not know how anyone could justify spending that much cash for this coin. I happen to like ASE's, and do have the set, but only a grade chaser could even be tempted by such a ridiculous price. Of course, if one has the disposable cash, then perhaps it would be acceptable.     Has a PCGS value of $30k
    Positive BST transactions with: too many names to list! 36 at last count.

    Good grief ... just look at the "source" of the auction ... that should tell you everything that you want to know.

    It didn't sell on Teletrade and it won't sell on ebay. As for the PCGS price guide price of $30,000.00 That was the price when there was a pop. of one. You are better off trying to find the next PR70 on your own....there may be one left out there, but I doubt it, the 10th Anniv. Sets have been pretty well searched.

    If it were mine and I found a sucker....uh, knowledgeable buyer.....to take it off my hands at $170,000, I'd be at his doorstep the next morning with the coin, coffee, and dancing girls.

    Wasn't there a story a while back about the first PR-70 developing milk spots? If this coin is the better of the two, it would explain the crazy asking price image
