Tough call, but it'd be between these:

    - '52 Bowman Mantle. The first expensive card I ever owned (that's an expensive card to me at least...not for some of you other guys on here..haha).
    - '33 Goudey Ruth (red background). My first and only Ruth card.
    - Tie between my '60, '61, and '66 Topps Mantles. All three are in absolutely awesome condition. Want to have them graded sometime soon, but I'm terrified of sending them through the mail.

Every card in my entire collection is raw, minus a '77 Topps Wax Pack with Ryan on the back (PSA 7).

It is not useless because I am pretty sure that everyone knows what these cards look like. If they did not know what they look like they probably would not be on this forum. Right?? If I say Vanilla ice cream is my favorite do you need a picture of the actual ice cream cone to know what I am talking about.

    1909 - 1911 T206 Cobb Bat off PSA 4
    20's - nothing of note
1933 Goudey Ruth PSA 4.5 the least expensive one
    1948 Leaf Robinson SGC 86
    1951 Bowman Mantle PSA 5
    60'S - nothing of note
    70's - Raw mint 1970 Don Kessinger

Kessinger was my best friend's favorite Cub. He was 8 at the time I was 5 ---- big influence on me

50's: 1959 Topps #155 Jim Taylor RC PSA 8 (Soon to be replaced on my favorite list with a nice 57 Starr PSA 7)
    60's- 1962 Topps #320 Hank Aaron PSA 8
70's- 1979 Topps #320 James Lofton RC PSA 7 (Clearly, the 70's is kind of a dead era in my collection)
80's- 1984 Topps Steve Yzerman RC PSA 10
90's- 1992 Stadium Club Brett Favre PSA 10
00's- 2001 SP Game Used Albert Pujols RC PSA 10 (I've got nicer Pujols rookies, but for whatever reason, I just dig this card)

For some reason, I always like the cards I submitted better than the ones I bought slabbed. Among them:

    59 PSA 8 Rice
59 PSA 8 Infield Power-The best card I have bought raw on ebay.
    61 PSA 8 Mantle
    61 PSA 8 Maris
    66 PSA 8.5 Rose
    66 PSA 9 Palmer
61 PSA 8 Killebrew-It was the first card I bought raw off ebay that graded an 8.

What I've noticed in my short time here...the expression "this thread is useless without scans" is a way many members state that they like to see some pics of the cards that the posters are talking about. It wasn't meant as a derogatory comment towards your thread; but IMO was more of a request for posters to include some scans of their cards. We all know what the cards look like, but as you know, exact cards can look completely different, depending on lots of factors. It's part of the fun of browsing the boards to see other people cards and conditions... take no offense as I'm sure none was meant... consider it "board slang"...

    I don't have a favorite - if/when I pickup up a T3 Cobb? That will be my favorite!

Here's one that I am partial to - I picked it up in a Greg Manning Auction in the early 90s - paid somewhere between 650 and 800$ - that's fer sure since I never spent more than 800$ for a card (and only once before that I remember) before the 2000s.

Well said.. You have to admit though, the remark about the ice cream cone was pretty damn funny. Made me laugh hard..especially considering how often you hear that phrase on the boards. I give "New Guy" Skywalker a +1 for humor.

what you are missing from your synopsis is the user that posted "this thread is useless without scans" is a total tool!

go over to the etopps boards and ask around. HE went there once the regs ran him out of here! I guess he is back? Since his "opinions" weren't well welcomed there either!

Here are my favorite cards. I had a couple of tough choices. The next one on my list would likely be my 1964 Topps Stand Ups Willie Mays. Someday I hope to have a 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #144. That is, in my mind, the perfect baseball card. Someday. I'm not sure what I'd choose for the 1940s. Not a huge selection there, and a decade for which I really don't know all that much...

    Anyway, here they are:
