I agree. Did you take it pheh? Looks very professional and either artisticly created and planned or a fortunate accident. The depth of field looks like it was shot at a very high f/stop and the lighting is perfect (very hard to do on this coin). Then it was shot not quite upright and the photo rotated to make it look like it is sitting on in incline. Very cool. --Jerry

Thanks for the kudos on that shot. I did take it and posted it here some time ago as a "my UHR is here" picture. Funny thing about this shot, I'd call it it a planned out fortunate accident. The lighting was sunlight (little) and multiple 60-100w incandescent (a lot of room light). I didn't have my primary camera at home when I shot it so I used my backup Nikon D40, which still takes exceptional pictures.
The coin was set on a glass/wood end-table underneath a 60w incandescent light and about 3 feet from a brightly sunlit window. In this case the lampshade really helped to distribute the light and the sunlit window helped to even out the light coverage on the coin. That was the really fortunate part - the lighting "just worked". The coin was purposefully set in rotation in the capsule, then the camera was hand held at a slight angle above the coin to generate the incline effect – and the reflection, while not planned from the get-go was certainly taken advantage of once noticed.
Probably more than you wanted to know, but perhaps worth others knowing that a little planning and a little photography knowledge can lead up to some very fortuitous accidents!
