25 Cent Original Bank Rolls ???
Could someone tell me if these are original bank rolls. I just bought several that are dated from 1945 to 1969. Some of these are stamped "RK Stimpler Collection'. What year did they stop making these 25 cent rolls ?

Some of that ink is post-issue. The Sunnyvale ink is probably original. I can't make out who wrapped them.
70% chance that they are original, depending on what the ends look like.
I knew it would happen.
<< <i>These might be "special run" rolls, but I never had a bank offer 25 coin rolls when I was growing up in the 50s & 60s. What do the ends look like?

I'm going to possibly buy them from a private collector.

amazing.
What was used for storage?!?!?!?!

I don't know. They were shipped to me in plastic quarter tubes.

I see nothing wrong with them although the end coins sure look pristine. You never know what's in a roll until you look.
The one thing I wonder when I see a big date run of these is how someone put it together because half rolls are scarcer than normal ones.
Maybe they kept getting them at the same bank over years but putting together a date run would not be easy.
By the way, they also made half roll plastic coin tubes.

"I only golf on days that end in 'Y'" (DE59)
it also seems they are rather common.
one google search result mentioned privately rolled.
honestly, my gut feeling is that this is scam marketing invented by
a seller to get more money for rolls. i am not saying the coins are bad...
i am just saying one could easily over pay for them by buying into the
"story". The whole "stimpler thing" that is.
This is my personal gut feeling. No more, no less. The other rolls, who knows. I am just trying to dig up info on what i found interesting.
Who knows when they were wrapped up though. When was the roll
craze going on? 20 years ago?
editing as i find more info or correct mistakes.
I think that the roll craze really got moving in the mid-50s. By the time that I started collecting, in 1962, the roll craze was running full-tilt.
I think that some people were saving rolls in some quantities as early as 1934.
I stopped saving rolls around 1968, and didn't start getting interested in them again until 1987.
I knew it would happen.
link below goes to a dealer in FL who is offering some for sale. The 1941 roll.

How do you know?

1) Sometimes, rolls can be made that have great coins (ie...they were picked for being great examples) even if not "OBW".
2) Unless someone was there to see them rerolled, or they SEE a very clear sign, then it is speculation that it was rerolled. Kind of the same for someone saying they must be original. Everything is subjective unless one can see proof....and just saying "I've never seen them before" is not proof.
So, if you go into it with no premium, or a small premium, it is probably all good. If you go into it with a larger premium, I wish you the best of luck.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
<< <i>I have seen half rolls of cents before. I was even 'paid' with a couple when I was a kid with a paper route. That being said, I have no idea if these are original. Cheers, RickO >>
Rick, did you mean to say "roll of half-cents"?
So, Coll3ctor.....didja buy them?

Should I crack them open or sell them
