Tiger Woods OK after car crash near Florida home Buzz up!Like this story? Share it with Yahoo! Buzz The agent for Tiger Woods has told USA TODAY that the golf superstar is fine after crashing his vehicle near outside his Florida home early Friday.
Mark Steinberg, senior vice president of IMG, confirmed Woods was in an accident. Earlier, Florida Highway Patrol reported Woods was transported to the hospital after hitting a fire hydrant near his residence in Windermere, Fla., outside Orlando. Health Central Hospital in nearby Ocoee is expected to release a statement on Woods by 4 p.m. ET, according to a hospital operator.
According to an official release from FHP and reported by Florida Today, Woods, had pulled out of his driveway in a Cadillac SUV. As he began to drive .... (Woods) struck a fire hydrant," FHP reported. The front of Wood's vehicle "then struck a tree" located at a neighboring property.
Florida Today says FHP is reporting the crash remains under investigation and that charges are pending.
The extent of Woods' injuries are unknown.
The FHP report indicates alcohol was not a factor in the crash. It also indicates "unknown" on whether a seat belt was used.
There was no mention of the accident on Woods’ Web site or his Facebook page, as of 3:30 p.m. ET.

I was told about it by a friend, for the record I couldn't care less, guess the inquirer is going to focusing on it and claims they have proof (since the Inquirer is up there with Bill O-Reilly in my books who knows/cares)..
The National Enquirer is going public with details of the golfer’s relationship with one Rachel Uchitel. Nothing online yet from the Enquirer, which, to remind you, did get that John Edwards story right. Woods, 33, and ex-model Elin Nordegren, 29, have two young children; Uchitel, a New York events planner, was linked by tabloids last month to David Boreanaz, star of Fox’s Bones. Woods’ camp has yet to comment.
His driving tends to get a bit erratic from time to time. His scrambling ability is amazing though, so I expect all of the alcohol and infedelity rumors to disappear.
I just heard on ESPN that his agent said he is fine and it was not serious. CNN has yet to report this as they have to get official permission before reading a story.

Ruh Roh is right! Didn't really make sense why he would leave the house at 2:30am and it a hydrant and a tree at low speed if not on drugs or alcohol. I'll leave the speculation as such, but a lot more possibilities have come into play if the affair is true.
Either way, he has one of the world's best PR/Management teams and has never been in major trouble with the paparazzi before. I really largely meant that as a poorly coded warning to the folks that don't have all those extra assets.
While it certainly applies mostly to non-rich folks, even a rich guy with an interest in a large marital estate does not want to give away any more than he has to.
But........
A six-year marriage - with a reasonable prenup assumed - will/might, I suspect, make the real property more important than it seems at first glance.
If, as I believe, most of TW's earnings have gone into foundations that he would successfully fight to keep out of the estate, the net size of that estate may be substantially smaller than most folks would assume it to be.
The current calcs on real estate are sometimes allowing women to grab properties at 50% of their 2006/7 numbers. That, obviously, allows the woman to get a likely "temporarily-deflated" asset at a huge discount AND gives her a larger opportunity to grab additional stuff/cash.
The multiple homes could end up ALL going to her with a terribly tiny credit to his side of the chart. She would then argue for mucho extra stuff/cash that has real/current value to TW.
Though FL is a no fault state, the statute specifically lists "adultery" as a factor in determining alimony amounts. Tiger Woods: Injuries Caused by Wife, Not SUV
Posted Nov 28th 2009 12:08AM by TMZ Staff
Tiger Woods did not suffer facial lacerations from a car accident. They were inflicted by his wife, Elin Nordegren -- according to a conversation Woods had Friday after the accident.
Tiger has yet to be formally interviewed by the Florida Highway Patrol -- that should happen this afternoon. But we're told Tiger had a conversation Friday -- with a non-law enforcement type -- detailing what went down before his Escalade hit a fire hydrant.
We're told he said his wife had confronted him about reports that he was seeing another woman. The argument got heated and, according to our source, she scratched his face up. We're told it was then Woods beat a hasty retreat for his SUV -- but according to our source, Woods says his wife followed behind with a golf club. As Tiger drove away, she struck the vehicle several times with the club.
We're told Woods became "distracted," thought the vehicle was stopped, and looked to see what had happened. At that point the SUV hit the fire hydrant and then hit a tree.
We're also told Woods had said during the conversation Friday he had been taking prescription pain medication for an injury, which could explain why he seemed somewhat out of it at the scene.

you don't think reality TV rivals sports ratings??? we are a bored, vulture culture that needs to feed off the pain and misery of others, if only just to suppress our own pain and misery. we are jealous of those with more money, beauty and attention than us, so we secretly cheer when something happens to them that might inch them closer to being like us. because we just used our last sick day before termination eating a whole bag of Cheetos, a 6pack of Cinnabons and washed it down with a fifth of Jack we need something to feel better about ourselves...to justify it or be absolved from it. so as we adulterously stalk Myspace and craigslist, wondering if the checkout girl who sold you the Cheetos would make a better wife than you have, at least we found out that even though Tiger Woods is rich, handsome and godly famous, there is still the chance he can screw his life up like we are all doing......
