I saw the "not alcohol related" part too...but it also said he was leaving his house. Where the heck do you go at 2:30am? Anxious to hear the real story.

Tiger Woods OK after car crash near Florida home
Buzz up!Like this story? Share it with Yahoo! Buzz The agent for Tiger Woods has told USA TODAY that the golf superstar is fine after crashing his vehicle near outside his Florida home early Friday.

Mark Steinberg, senior vice president of IMG, confirmed Woods was in an accident.
Earlier, Florida Highway Patrol reported Woods was transported to the hospital after hitting a fire hydrant near his residence in Windermere, Fla., outside Orlando.
Health Central Hospital in nearby Ocoee is expected to release a statement on Woods by 4 p.m. ET, according to a hospital operator.

According to an official release from FHP and reported by Florida Today, Woods, had pulled out of his driveway in a Cadillac SUV.
As he began to drive .... (Woods) struck a fire hydrant," FHP reported. The front of Wood's vehicle "then struck a tree" located at a neighboring property.

Florida Today says FHP is reporting the crash remains under investigation and that charges are pending.

The extent of Woods' injuries are unknown.

The FHP report indicates alcohol was not a factor in the crash. It also indicates "unknown" on whether a seat belt was used.

There was no mention of the accident on Woods’ Web site or his Facebook page, as of 3:30 p.m. ET.

    Charges Pending:

Line on form to write charge.

    Check Box that says "Pending."

Pending an investigation, the charge will be "striking a fixed object."

A minor thing, unless drugs/alcohol are involved.

    ..............

Escalades are a GREAT ride, but when you hit a fixed object at very low speed
it seems a lot of the energy is transferred into the passenger compartment.

Airbags are sometimes reticent to deploy. You definitely want to be strapped in.

I was told about it by a friend, for the record I couldn't care less, guess the inquirer is going to focusing on it and claims they have proof (since the Inquirer is up there with Bill O-Reilly in my books who knows/cares)..

The National Enquirer is going public with details of the golfer’s relationship with one Rachel Uchitel. Nothing online yet from the Enquirer, which, to remind you, did get that John Edwards story right. Woods, 33, and ex-model Elin Nordegren, 29, have two young children; Uchitel, a New York events planner, was linked by tabloids last month to David Boreanaz, star of Fox’s Bones. Woods’ camp has yet to comment.

Ruh Roh is right! Didn't really make sense why he would leave the house at 2:30am and it a hydrant and a tree at low speed if not on drugs or alcohol. I'll leave the speculation as such, but a lot more possibilities have come into play if the affair is true.

Either way, he has one of the world's best PR/Management teams and has never been in major trouble with the paparazzi before. This could wind up being either a huge scandal, a major cover up or simply nothing at all. Either way, it should be interesting. This guy flat out despises the press and puts a huge value on privacy. I think he's in for some rough times if any of the speculation is proven accurate.

He recently got back from his Asian trip.

Before Monday, the net will likely be full of photos of RU checking into
the Aussie hotel where he was staying.

LOTS of phone records will be released.

RU might be a woman scorned, but most of her tales are likely true.

The 9-iron through the rear window "to rescue him," is nonsense.

More likely that he was fleeing the gal's wrath and she threw the

window was smashed, he got spooked and crashed into the
    hydrant and tree.

I was thinking all the same things Storm, I just didn't want to post (even reasonable) speculation. I live in LA where celebrities are built up just so we can tear them down. I like to see people get the benefit of the doubt. Frankly, I've never liked Tiger. That said, I can't play by different rules when people I don't like are involved. It would make me a hypocrite.

Storm ... I agree with most everything you usually state, but in Tiger's situation I disagree with the above. Unlike most of us, I believe Tiger's primary residence is only a tiny fraction of his net worth, thus not really factoring into any equitable distribution calculations. BUT, I do agree that IF she was thinking of divorcing him, NOW IS THE TIME!

I really largely meant that as a poorly coded warning to the folks that
don't have all those extra assets.

While it certainly applies mostly to non-rich folks, even a rich guy
with an interest in a large marital estate does not want to give
away any more than he has to.

    But........

    A six-year marriage - with a reasonable prenup assumed - will/might,
I suspect, make the real property more important than it seems at
    first glance.

If, as I believe, most of TW's earnings have gone into foundations
that he would successfully fight to keep out of the estate, the net
size of that estate may be substantially smaller than most folks
    would assume it to be.

The current calcs on real estate are sometimes allowing women
to grab properties at 50% of their 2006/7 numbers. That, obviously,
allows the woman to get a likely "temporarily-deflated" asset at a huge
discount AND gives her a larger opportunity to grab additional stuff/cash.

The multiple homes could end up ALL going to her with a terribly tiny
credit to his side of the chart. She would then argue for mucho
extra stuff/cash that has real/current value to TW.

Though FL is a no fault state, the statute specifically lists "adultery"
as a factor in determining alimony amounts. The bad conduct also
flows into the equitable distribution notion, whether the court admits
that or not; many judges hate cheaters. She is also entitled to have
any money he spent on sluttery debited to his account in the ED
    formula.

She would likely play the "unfit" card and the court could punish him
by giving her leverage to make money demands in exchange for certain
    custody/visitation chips.

If she's smart, she will strike fast and hard.

    .......

Obviously, I am speculating and have ZERO inside info on their finances.

Also, he may just want to move on. Maybe he "loves" RU. Maybe he just wants
to get away from anybody who would chase his car with a golf club and cause
him to crash into a tree. If I was him, I would make the best deal I could and,
much later, take a mulligan on the marriage game.......... NOT with RU, tho.

I don't like the paparazzi culture we live it either. But when the #1 athlete in the world appears to have had an affair with the results being his wife chasing his from their home with a golf club after scratching his face, a car crash and a trip to the hospital, it's news.

This will be especially interesting because of his almost legendary propensity to shut out people who make him look bad...does he do it to the mother of his two children?

Tiger Woods: Injuries Caused by Wife, Not SUV

Posted Nov 28th 2009 12:08AM by TMZ Staff

Tiger Woods did not suffer facial lacerations from a car accident. They were inflicted by his wife, Elin Nordegren -- according to a conversation Woods had Friday after the accident.

Tiger has yet to be formally interviewed by the Florida Highway Patrol -- that should happen this afternoon. But we're told Tiger had a conversation Friday -- with a non-law enforcement type -- detailing what went down before his Escalade hit a fire hydrant.

We're told he said his wife had confronted him about reports that he was seeing another woman. The argument got heated and, according to our source, she scratched his face up. We're told it was then Woods beat a hasty retreat for his SUV -- but according to our source, Woods says his wife followed behind with a golf club. As Tiger drove away, she struck the vehicle several times with the club.

We're told Woods became "distracted," thought the vehicle was stopped, and looked to see what had happened. At that point the SUV hit the fire hydrant and then hit a tree.

We're also told Woods had said during the conversation Friday he had been taking prescription pain medication for an injury, which could explain why he seemed somewhat out of it at the scene.

By Monday, the new controversy will be the issue of
why the woman was not arrested at the scene.

Lucky for the likely complicit cops, FL is still a "Pro-Arrest"
state and there is currently no "Mandatory Arrest" statute.

The cop can do what he wants to, but he has to explain it in
writing at the end of the shift.

    ....................

If TW had been the one with the golf club in his hand - and his wife had
been lying in the road bleeding - would the cops have played the same
    cover up game? I dunno.

If any "ordinary" man had been holding the golf club, he would have
    been arrested.

If women want to play the punching game, they should expect to face
the same consequences as men do.

Even if celebrity justice has to be preserved, it needs to be gender
neutral. Chris Brown didn't catch many breaks; wonder if Rihanna
    would have gotten some slack.

Americans sure love to watch a celebrity's downfall. If it were a spectator sport, the ratings would rival those of the NFL, LOL..

  • you don't think reality TV rivals sports ratings??? we are a bored, vulture culture that needs to feed off the pain and misery of others, if only just to suppress our own pain and misery. we are jealous of those with more money, beauty and attention than us, so we secretly cheer when something happens to them that might inch them closer to being like us. because we just used our last sick day before termination eating a whole bag of Cheetos, a 6pack of Cinnabons and washed it down with a fifth of Jack we need something to feel better about ourselves...to justify it or be absolved from it. so as we adulterously stalk Myspace and craigslist, wondering if the checkout girl who sold you the Cheetos would make a better wife than you have, at least we found out that even though Tiger Woods is rich, handsome and godly famous, there is still the chance he can screw his life up like we are all doing......
