PROOF ERROR super rare only one known

I just got this super rare "Rolled in Wire" Error which is normally quite rare with only a handful known on Statehood Quarters. This is the only one known on a Proof Statehood Quarter. It is clad so there is the nice split with the copper showing. The copper has proof surfaces.

If it would have been silver I would have snatched it up!
<< <i>Glad you picked it up as it was on my watch list.

Thanks man, wow you are quick as it was only up for 20 mins and my daughter talked me into it. Yes silver would be nice but when you are talking one-of-a-kind you can't be greedy.

Be happy as if it wasn't for my "self rules" established for my collection you would not have this quarter!
I feel it's best left in the original mint holder instead of cracking and submitting... unless PCGS still does the multi holders?
Also I thought uncle Fred grabbed this puppy!

Ha Ha Ha Ha , self rules, boy I have none except expense. If it's "in the range" then I buy it.
Credit Cards are a wonderful thing.

You got that right, none of my searches were working earlier, they are now and I was able to pull off one buy of widgets as the price was right.
I do buy quite a bit off the bay as you know.
I am glad you all like the coin. I sure do.

Looks like George has some SERIOUS sinus pain.

How did this error occur?
Franklin-Lover's Forum
Here is Mike D's explanation of how this occurred, "These are actually carbon-steel bristles from the rotating descaling brushes used to clean coin metal strip prior to bonding."
That is were the wire comes from and it was rolled into the quarter stock clad material, so the wire was in the blank planchet before being struck.
He said this is the only know proof with this error (not sure if he meant statehood quarter or all proofs) and that maybe less than a dozen were on business strike statehood quarters.

I used a Canon 1Ds MII 16.7 meg Camera and a 100 mm macro lens and a 65 mm macro lens. For the light I'm just using quartz which I really don't like.
Nice addition to your set.
