<< <i>Kinda late, but wanted to report my findings......I re-examined the 21 wddr-006/009's that I already had and found 7 with the die crack

obverse. I only use a loupe, so it's fairly easy to overlook at a quick glance. Plus, I wasn't aware of these until recently, so I just wasn't

looking for it. Pitboss, you might want to get back to yours and check them out.

I then proceeded to open one of my new 4/23 boxes. I found 6 of the 006's (1 with the obverse die crack), 13 wddr-010's, and 3 or 4

die cracks on the reverse "S" down to Lincoln's head. So, I'm very happy tonight with my new finds. The batch on this box is 9774

and the time was 08:10 for reference. Good night all. >>

Is this Wexler's Die Crack Stage C, or a different crack?
  • looks more like the stage " b" type...not as prominent as the "c" appears to be. Mine came from boxes that times ranged from 09:54 to

10:44....someone had guessed that the type "c"' was coming from a later afternoon run....they were probably right. The type "b" is an

early stage of wear on the die and the "c" is near failure of the die. Still happy to find several that had that one extra element to the coin.

That was my guess about the afternoon, reason being, I date and stamp each envelope I put the errors in, The earlier boxes are stage A and and the 10:00 boxes have the stage B, so I'm assuming the later boxes have stage c, I have around 20 more 4/23 boxes but no in the mood to chase the crack. I also bought 5 boxes from one person a few weeks back and they had opened one to take the picture, so I figured worse case one box was searched or a replaced roll. But when I received them I looked at the one roll he stated for pictures and it had the WDDR-006 on the end of the roll. The guy was totally honest and now have two with the skeleton finger on a end of a roll. I have a few other with doubled dies on the end and one with errors on both endsimage

Are they all being found in 9774 boxes or are they also in 9883? I have not taken an interest in these . I do now have 20 of them that I know of.

  • My day off, so I'm going through my "inventory" of already identified and catalogued lp2's. Believe it or not, I have at least one error that

has not been given a Wexler number and possibly two. I think I'll get those off to him. I know, another error to add to the list, but.....

I have a few rolls set aside that I seperated some "possible errors" for further review. I may get into those today. image

If you look at coppercoins.com he has some LP2 errors that Wexler does not. You should look there first. image

What difference does it make what the # is up to, 70 80 90?

The suggestion that the total number of different DDRs has something to do with individual values is silly.

Honestly, I'm tired of reading about the whining over what the Wexler number is up to now.

The value of a $30 DDR is only affected by collector interest, and the number found.......DDR #1 has nothing to do with DDR #2, they're different coins.

I don't think there are many who are going to collect all of them, but there are many who will collect the best ones.

  • << <i>The suggestion that the total number of different DDRs has something to do with individual values is silly. Honestly, I'm tired of reading about the whining over what the Wexler number is up to now. >>

....and I think that if there were only one or two different errors the value of those errors would be way above where they are now. It just seems that the interest in these decreased in direct proportion to the number of different types found. Confusion creates indifference.

A difference of opinion is not whining....if you are that tired of reading different opinions then stop reading them......or at least ignore them

I am an active collector of these coins and I am looking forward to another small graded bunch that will arrive on Tuesday.

    Agreed.

I don't think the confusion is by the type of DDR, they are clearly pictured by the attribution leaders. Confusion may be, unintentionally, in the lack of a universal numbering system.
  • ...and, as has said a few times before....the lack of interest by the major TPG's...........sadly image

If there was not so many of the minute ones the 3rd party graders would be interested. If they don't come up with anything worth mentioning in 3 and 4 we still might have a shot at some price increases. As of yet they have come up with NOTHING.

Put them up for sale for a cheap price and someone will buy them. Quickly I might add !

I have been selling my ANACS MS67 WDDR 001's for over a hundred dollars each and have sold a bunch of them.

  • Cracked open my last three lp2 boxes last night...all dated 4/23....two of the boxes had a wddr-006/009 on the end of the roll so I didn't

open those rolls...thinking I might just sell them whole on the bay....the third box had nine of the 006/009's in the roll. One of the nine had

the type b obverse die crack, which is more subtle than the type c but still very clearly cracked to the rim. These are early time boxes 08:08

so finding any die cracks was a little surprising. I also found four wddr-010's and five die crack reverses rim to head and boots. Do you think

I should open the rolls that show the error on the ends or sell or hold? I feel like these will increase in value over time. What say you?

FROM DVN: Amazing the DDO has been used on three different obverses?

Of all the many FY DDR listings, this one is one of my favorites. Not just because of the doubling, but more in the production history associated with it.

This is just one of the stages for this variety. To break it down:

FY CDDO-002 is paired with FY CDDR-006 striking coinage. Then ...

FY CDDO-002 paired with CDDR-006 is retired and now replaced with CDDR-009 (Skeleton Finger) DDR and the production continues ...

And just recently I received a coin from a submitter that confirmed another new stage being ...

FY CDDO-002 with CDDR-009 (Skeleton Finger) was pulled and replaced with a non-DDR reverse!

A complete set of these stages would make a neat collection.
