Who is your "go to" guy or girl on the forum when you have a numismatic question or want an opinion? And why?

Could be via PM or someone who's answers you specifically search for...

I have two people that I think are the experts (in my areas) and I look to them and their threads to educate me -

    PROOFARTWORKONCIRCS

    CLADKING

Both are extremely knowledgable, and I dearly appreciate their knowledge and willingness to share.

Sure it's an ego boost to be named in a thread like this...but it also gives other forum members an idea of who they can ask when they have specific questions or want an opinion.

Kind of a "Who's Who" on the forum...

If I collected these series I would go to:

    Tradedollarnut on well, trade dollars

Sunnywood on Morgans and Barber quarters

I do collect commems and my mentors and go to guys are:

    Gregg Bingham aka monsterman

Mr.HalfDime I contacted once and he helped me out greatly so I would be remiss not to include him here as a still very big thank you image

My first suggestion would be roadrunner, but there are a few others with knowledge across all seated coinage.

That's one of the nicest things about this place, you'd be hard pressed to come up with an area of the hobby where there isn't at least one resident expert.

    Either Tradedollarnut, Barberman55, or Drddm.

First two for Seated dollars and Dave for liberty nickels.

Edmerlr was the man for capped bust halves but now i just head over to Coinzip for those.

    Lathmach

I can't believe no one has mentioned Russ. He's my first and last name on that list. Everyone else mentioned has been biased in some manner shape or form and for advice you can't afford to wonder about the person's motivations. Some names mentioned are just laughable.

Russ is good, but Mark Feld was mentioned and I have not known Mark to be anything but upfront and without bias.
He has offered me coins, offered to look at coins for me (as a potential agent), and has turned me away from coins that he knew I wouldn't like or that he thought weren't up to snuff for the grade/price.

Mark's motivations have been to make sure that I, as a customer, and likely others in the same boat, get coins they want and feel good about and are happy with. Don't discount him.

Russ is also good and he won't BS....you should meet up with him at a show and start talking about coins for sale at the show....quite fun image

I won't mention by name, because I would probably forget someone, but suffice to say that I have recieved great advice on various coins from many on this forum. I guess, I'm what you would call a "Jack of all coins, master of none" Because I don't specialize in one series, I typically need advice on more difficult aspects with in a series, and the great thing about his forum, is that advice is readilly available.
