Bust quarters and halves. I am also fairly proficient at determining what early coppers will certify and which ones will not (since many have minor problems that will still certify.) And I have great hair! (Not really, but at least I still have it.)

I'm an expert at bringing home slight problem coins from the B&M shop after viewing them in their magic lights as being problem free. Where do they get those light bulbs at????

But seriously, one strength that's progressing is patience. I used to be a hoarder, now I'm more particular. This will save lots of time and $$$ in the long run.

I'd say it must be an improved eye for quality, based on the fact that almost everything I identify as desirable with strong eye appeal goes for moon money even as the stuff I don't find appealing gets cheaper and cheaper.

Patience, willingness to be humble and listen and learn despite over 30 years in the hobby. I have a good knowledge of prices, a good memory for dealers and what they might carry. I also have a thick skin which comes in handy on the Internet.

I am very good at losing money on coins. I can buy a coin and flip

it in 24 hours for a 30% loss. Its a heck of a skill. Not only that, but

I can do it over and over again without any limitation.

I'm not easily swayed by dealer hype.
I'm fairly good at detecting fake gold coins and original vs. messed with gold coins.
I know what I want and I'm not distracted by coins outside my area of interest.

Honestly I think other than being a nice guy and curious about coins I have few Numismatic strengths sad to say. My collection is a disorganized mess no matter how much time I spend trying to organize it, my previously great eyesight is slowly going

south, I have a very high IQ but a poor short term memory (my Achillies heel), I read a lot but have ADD so it is tough to focus, I am often taken advantage of by dealers because I am a nice guy so have become distrustful of them, and I could go on and on. Basically everything that was in a earlier thread about what traits a successful collector needs I have the opposite.

So why do I collect? Because it is fun!!

Oh and I do learn a lot and like 'meeting' the various folks online!

My specialty is placing two pennies in my open palm, making a fist, giving a little jiggle (and a blow from my lovely assistant), and POOF... a $50 bill!

I can also do the same exact grading trick that NGC uses....the 'ol "Watch me pull a grade designation out of my hat" trick. That's an easy one though.

I have only one strength but it's a biggie.

I have the uncanny ability to accurately grade a coin using only the flash from a lightning bolt. Scientists are baffled and have yet to satisfactorily explain how I am able to do this.

There are perhaps two,maybe three,others in the world who can grade coins by flash from lightning bolt.

Although I know that there is no substitute for seeing a coin in person, I have benefitted from relentlessly searching Ebay and keeping an eye on the coins that interest me. I have been the underbidder on millions of dollars worth of coins, but don't let my bidding get out of hand.

I can controll the price of gold and silver. When I want the price to go down, all I have to do is to buy some and when I want the price to go up, all I have to do is sell some. It never fails.

I have no coin collecting strengths other than appreciating coins I find in bank rolls and certain Modern issues. I have a poor eye, can't remember squat, and have no access to enough coins to get good at anything. It's a wonder I do this at all, in fact. I guess I do l like history, which helps me appreciate old coins.

I can grade coins blindfolded just by feeling them, and the grade I come up with is exactly how it will grade when submitted to NGC.
