is just as tough with a higher mintage of 13,220. PCGS VG10.

I've got some uber rare tokens and varieties. If you're referring to standard mint issue coins, it would probably be a 1913 T1 proof Buffalo nickel which I believe had a mintage of only 1,250. Problem is, I didn't find out it was a proof until after I sold it. image

Rare being a subjective term, Im going to say this one. Though there were several thousand 1937 Proof Buffalo Nickels struck, there are only 10 that are designated CAMEO

Its a beautiful coin, I never tire of looking at it. Almost "too" perfect for a buffalo nickel.

If we talk "coin related" this Brenner Lincoln Plaque certainly is a rare piece. I recently learned that this is part of a larger plaque, with wording, and only 12 are known to exist. Mine has never been part of a plaque, as the mounting screw posts are untapped. (it also makes a nice icon!)

FYI: You can tell by the doubling on the feathers. A unique trait that makes seeing the actual date unnecessary.

Since it is apparently a pop of 1-5 per Breen, I guess it is the rarest coin I own. Link below for further description and Coin Facts identification of subject coin as 'unique."

This condition census 1739 gold guinea is pretty scarce. Notice the E.I.C below the bust. Stands for East India Company which some guineas were specifically struck for.

    NGC 65, Millennia Sale.

A handful of the clips in my Lincoln set are the only ones known for the date, in fact the pops of most of the post-2000 cents could be counted on one hand. If you don't count errors or really obscure varieties, then the rarest coin I've owned is probably the one below:

A Cheerios Sacagawea. It was way too expensive when I bought it. It was purchased with the belief that it was rare. What's happened since has proven this.
My theory is that 500 exist. The other 5000 (supposed amount) were not boldly detailed tail feathers and were in a subsequent shipment to General Mills. Two correspondences with this company cannot corroborate, nor invalidate. The best recollection was "Oh yeah, I remember the ten million penny giveaway". Further inquiries turned up nothing. But they looked for me and wrote me back. They had no way of retrieving this information. It's still left to conjecture on how "rare" this modern pattern is.

Time will tell and a lot of eyes searching.

Practice makes perfect & nobody is perfect. So, practice being nobody.
