Is MSNlive Broke. Update 2/10/2009 Last page of thread.

I am owed $1,200 more dollars on other buys at ebay. And in the last three days I have been getting weird messages on my cashback account.

On 1/25 pending, process, failed.
On 1/25 Failed.
On 1/26 processed, failed
On 1/27 Failed
On 1/28 Failed and now in Pending

Ok here we go!! I had to call paypal back today because I got a email from MSnlive late last night telling me to trouble shoot.

I called and spoke to a supervisor name Zach. He is in marketing and promotions dept. This is what he told me. I do indeed have my payments/cashback pending in my paypal acct along with thousands of other people through this program. He told me since my amount is higher than some most people's monies will be verified so that Paypal doesn't have to lose money and time refunding money back to Msnlive.com.

He tells me he is due a large sum. If you remember at the time of my pending buys ebay ended the promotion and thus the large flow of cashback bonuses coming in to paypal.

Furthermore, a lot of people try to scam the cashback program in the way of buying and waiting and then the crook/seller both try to receive a refund for the item they bought and then take the cashback bonus and run.

I asked him a question about some people I have read stories about not receiving anything using the cashback process and he only tells me that they must of didn't follow guidelines or bought after the 1 hour limit to do the cashback search. If anyone I know he tells me to tell them to call paypal marketing and tell them your story and maybe they can help.

So again Millions of dollars trying to be sent into customers paypal accts. and they must be all verified before your money will finally be deposited. That is high cashbacks due. Wait another 24hrs and things should be fine. George

It seems in other threads recently that Live.com somehow "updated" people's information automatically. Lots of stories about people's paypal address going away and "paper check" becoming the default option. Maybe they're just hoping a lot of people don't notice and give up!!

Ok I think I got it. After talking to a Paypal rep just minutes ago he told me many people are having this problem. I have 3 email addys with the same name but different hosts, like msn.com, comcast.net and webtv.net.

My paypal/ebay acct used for my cashbacks are on file using the webtv.net. But I signed up 2 msnlive cashback accts. I did received like I said $1,300 a few months ago at the webtv.net paypal/ebay acct. But I remembered using the msn.com cashback acct for the last Gold coins I bought.

So here could be the problem I went on paypal and edited 3 more emails in my profile. This should work now. Do you know why? Because he told me that a amount of money was attempted to be deposited in my same email name but at msn.com and denied because there was no such acct.

So did you get this. Althought I signed on to my msn.com cashback acct and did the buying on ebay at the time and althought I have my ebay/paypal acct in the webtv.net for 10 years I think the msnlive is trying to send money in a paypal acct with the msn.com.

BOy I hope this works. Car insurance is due for my yearly statement in 3 days want to pay them with my profits from this msncashback thingy so I don't have to tap the savings if you know what I mean.

They are all screwed up. I have had deposits made only to have another fail the next day. I have had a deposit made on one day only to have another fail the same day and then receive yet another one the following day. I had one deposited Monday and had one fail today.

They changed their software so you no longer have to claim the cashback and ever since I have experienced the problem. Maybe MS needs to get out of the software business as it seems everytime they change something, it doesn't work for months, if not years!

Ive come to the conclusion after getting all my deposits (the last one yesterday) that live.com isn't broke, but some of the people who used it may not have read all that fine print and kept up with what they need to do on their end.

Update: I just received a response back from MSNLIVE.com customer service and he stated they understand my concerns and frustrations but due to tech. problems be assured that my payment/cashback is legit and will be in my acct A.s.a.p as soon as they fix the problem that is affecting many cashback customers.

Yea! I have to wait, but damn all of this hard work on my behalf calling this guy, that guy was for not.

From what I've experienced the 'Cashback' that is requested works, the 'Cashback' that is supposed to be deposited automatically Fails. image
I've had multiple rewards go through without a hitch manually requesting the money.
I now have 2 rewards that have gone into 'Failure' with the automatic payment, and a third coming up in a couple of days.

Does anyone know who to contact? Is it Paypal or MSN Live?
Can't find a contact for MSN Live on their website.

    UPDATE

Just spoke to Paypal who said that your PAYPAL account has to have a minimum of $5 to have the reward money transferred.
I thought the $5 minimum was the minimum amount of the reward before it would be transferred.
I now have $20 in my account, lets see if that works.

I didn't jump onto the cashback through live.com until December. So I am still waiting on my 2 purchases to receive cash back. I am starting to get a little concerned that I won't get it with all the troubles I am hearing lately. One is suppose to be available tomorrow, and the second over the weekend. Wish me luck!

I don't think that is true as I keep my PayPal balance at $0 and I have had deposits made. 1 when I requested it (before the software change) and 2 after automatic deposit thing went into effect. All failures I have had are after the Auto deposit was implemented.

So, it seems that people that didn't try to game the system (just had 1 account to use, etc) didn't seem to have problems.
People that worked to game the system (hey! Let me use my other 3 accounts, my wife's account, my do's account, etc) are the ones whining about "free" money that they don't have yet.

Another reason I just went to buy things I would buy anyway and the FREE money was just a bonus.

Always looking to blame someone else rather than themselves for missing small print, or having tried to game the system to get out of the intent of an offer. Why can't folks just own up to their own actions and accept responsibility? Oh yeah, the system has shown them that the government will always bail them out.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

WRONG - one account here. No games, one PayPal account that I have had for years. Use only the 12 transactions allowed through eBay.

Nice reply......you know this for a fact? Or just what you think?
And just what was the 'fine print' that we all missed?

Why can't folks just own up to their own actions and accept responsibility?
Doesn't MSN need to "own up to their own actions and accept responsibility?

    Just one account here.
And why would it work for the rewards I requested, while the auto deposit doesn't if there was fine print that I missed?

All your brainstorming here is a waste of energy. They are screwing up some of our payments. I got payments no problem, one account one paypal account everything fine until their auto payment, the mistake is theirs, period.

I've instructed the drones at Cashback live twice now to forget trying to send the payments to Paypig, and to just mail paper checks like they did when the promotion started. Of course, no response to that simple solution. That would be to effin' easy.

    Here is my history:

    1/19/07 - rewarded

    1/20/09 - failed

    1/20/09 - failed

    1/20/09 - failed

    1/21/09 - failed

    1/22/09 - failed

    1/24/09 - rewarded

    1/26/09 - rewarded

    1/26/09 - rewarded

    1/29/09 - failed

In all cases, I received an message from ebay that my purchases qualified for the reward. I have also requested that if they can't deposit them to my PayPal account, just send me a check. I wonder if they have someone skimming the rewards.

You can be disgusted all you want. I don't care if they get their money or not, to be honest, but I do get sick and tired of the continued threads popping up on this from the ones who went to game the system. Other than that, I don't care image
For the folks who completely stayed within the rules, I really do wish them luck in getting it all worked out.

Just like they can post and I can choose to ignore or not, I can post and they (you) can choose to ignore or not.

btw...if you can't tell, I am a rules player. Many are not, I am. Call it a fault, or be disgusted by it, it doesn't matter to me. Means that I don't always get what others do when they push the envelope but it also means I stay out of a lot of problems.

If your tired of the crap the cashback customer service rep. is feeding you did you guys know that if you contact them again with an all new contact request you will get a new guy feeding you all new crap? I pretty much have written off ever seeing my rebates (and I'll tell you I have more due than the $450 I've already received) so I intend to keep sending them new contact request until they have spent more cheating me out of my rebates than just giving them to me. Send them new contact requests and see what new crap you get. This new guy is blaming it on paypal, that my account might not be able to receive payments. gave me a whole list of instructions to try and fix the problem at paypals end. My account has no problem receiving payments and I emailed him immediately and let him know it. Think I'll start a whole new case tomarrow

I'm glad to see it has worked out for some. Even though they owe me a lot of bucks it was all gravy. I sold the items I purchased some for a profit some for a loss and with the $450 I did get I'm in the black, so I'll write it off as easy come easy go. I haven't lost money in the stock market and Bernie didn't get me. I have a reasonably secure job so I'm not going to complain but I will give them as hard a time as I can just for sheets and grins.
