When my cart first loaded at 12:02 it had a backorder date of 1/28. By the time I was finally able to checkout over an hour and ten minutes later, the backorder date had slipped to 2/6.
If order shows suspended, it is probably because you ordered more than one to the same shipping address or you ordered more than one with the same billing address (even if you used two different credit cards). If you fall in one of these categories and do not yet show "suspended" you might want to cancel all but one of the orders before the mint suspends them all!

Actually we need to know what the average number of orders are per day without a new issue in play. Assuming it is even 10,000, that is still a lot of gold for 20,000 UHRs going out the door.

Spoke to a guy at the mint's 800 number and he said that there's been well over 25,000 orders today. Said they're swamped and that they brought everyone pizza and asked them to stay at their computers/phones. Pretty friendly guy. Mint guy, if you read this forum -

I don't think the average comes into play. The site is so slow, who would order anything but the UHR? My guess would be atleast 75% of orders are for the UHR.
Plus we get a bonus, with only one per order. No guessing if the order was 1 or 10.
I'd say this is probably a success for the Mint. As for flippers, we'll see.
I have 2 orders to report that are currently showing as IN STOCK AND RESERVED:
308306xx 12:42PM
30827xxx 12:24PM
I strongly suspect that those showing a "ship date" of 2/6 will soon begin experiencing the infamous "rolling delivery date" whereby, as each day passes, the mint pushes back the delivery date by one day. Those presales for 2/6 delivery will take quite a while for actual delivery.
<< <i>For reference, I ordered $1 Direct ship two days in a row. My order numbers were 4,000 apart. >>
That seems to support the employee at the Mint's reporting that over 25,000 UHR Coins were sold today. Order numbers reported here suggested approximately 30,000 orders. Subtract 4,000 and you end up with 26,000 ordered. Not shabby. With Apple reporting great earnings today and the Mint having a banner sales day these are hopefully signs of an improving economic outlook.
If what the Mint posted is correct and you used the same address for multiple orders, all orders to the same address will be cancelled. >>
Of course!
My youngest is almost 26, and we've been empty nesters for quite some time. Our "kids" in 2 of the 3 cases are 1500 miles away.
............and to think that people talk about the empty nest syndrome. When the last one left, my wife and I high-fived each other. The only tears were tears of joy.

Of course I cancelled, which I would have done anyway, i just had to get in on the ordering hoopla
I think this is a very cool coin, but with very little numismatic value, and I would still like to get one closer to melt in OGP one day. I'll take a wild guess: 87,000 total mintage....it should be interesting to see how the 69s trade after a while.
This is from the mint's FAQ section and comes up from time to time...
What does "Your Order is Suspended" mean?
Answer Orders can be in a temporary status of; suspended (S), error (E) or held (H) during the normal order processing period. If your order is still in one of these statuses after 7 business days, please contact Customer Service at one of the numbers listed below.
Usually orders go from suspended and quickly to on hold during normal ordering so that you never normally see the suspended status. There is a glitch when using quick checkout (Which is why I don't use that) which will generate an order number in account history and then within an hour it will disappear completely and even if you saved the order number it will not be found. If it stays suspended for too long then there is a problem and you should call...
This could end up being a tremendous windfall for those that recieve some of the first 40 or 50K of these extraordinary coins. I will be keeping mine raw and sealed.
I have a question that I hope someone can answer. I ordered one coin yesterday with everyone else in the world. Is the price listed on my confirmation letter going to change with the price of gold or is it fixed? Who knows what gold will be in six months?
<< <i>I have a question that I hope someone can answer. I ordered one coin yesterday with everyone else in the world. Is the price listed on my confirmation letter going to change with the price of gold or is it fixed? Who knows what gold will be in six months? >>
You're locked into the price at the time you placed the order, assuming it's not on backorder & gets canceled.
Legally, once a price is agreed upon, the seller can't go changing it on you. Cancel the order, yes, because then there's no transaction, and they could probably ASK for more money, but they can't just take it from you.
If gold goes through the roof, the Mint would probably cancel everyone's orders, but I'll bet part of that $400 premium is to handle fluctuations like this. And the Mint probably gets gold for under spot anyway.

Apparently yes and no and maybe. Per an earlier post on this thread those that have an "in stock and reserved" status (even though "on hold") have a price guarantee. Maybe those who have confirmed orders which show status as "backordered" will get the same price guarantee, but maybe not. Obviously anyone who orders next week will be subject to either a new price (assuming gold stays above 850) or not get any price guarantee due to no product immediately available.
I don't want to start a heated debate, but I have a succinct feeling that the 1/28 confirmed orders will be the FS "stock", and the 2/6 etc. dates are going to be pushed back, and back, and back until the mint cranks up the presses. We guesstimated that there were 4K orders for the 1/28 date. Anyone else think that there's a good chance that the Mint only had 4K coins ready to roll? I guess that we'll know one way or another within the next few weeks.
Forum AdministratorPSA & PSA/DNA ForumModerator@collectors.com | p 800.325.1121 | PSAcard.com
It's very simple. When you place the order, the seller is offering the product at a certain price, and you are accepting it for that price. The seller can't then charge you a higher amount. That's bait-and-switch or stealing or something else. It's most likely illegal. As long as no money has actually changed hands, however, the seller can cancel the deal. Yes, there are exceptions to this rule (contracts and stuff like that) but basically, once YOU and the SELLER have agreed on a price, the seller CANNOT increase it without your OK.
And this is the Mint we're talking about. The one with the unconditional return policy. They're not going to do something like that. As I've said elsewhere, they might CANCEL everyone's orders (say that the price of gold hits $2000 on Monday). And people will grumble and complain, but legally, you can't do anything about it. In fact the email invoice you get from the Mint tells you that they can cancel your order.
So just relax. If you order the coin in the next few days, it's $1189 plus shipping, or they'll cancel the order. Nothing else.

Orders seemed to pick up speed after 1pm, with at least 10,000 orders in the next hour or so........
if anyone says this is not popular, just remember your experience today trying to place an order.....
worse than the 2006 anniversary sets for ordering
Maybe this is close to the cutoff time. This would make it about 5000 orders from the earliest I seen reported until this order.
30826XXX the earliest.
If the Mint only has 5000 minted they will see a sharp price increase.
Anyone else have a backordered from an earlier order #
