Hmmmm. At one point, I had 2 in the shopping cart, deleted one, and no doubt clicked checkout more than once. I'll have to get back on the imageimage Web site again, and see if I can unscamble this image mess. If I can't, maybe they'll be cheaper next week. image

The book might available on the secondary market. A lot of buyers will want to slab the coin to get and MS-70 and sell it to those who care about such things. That will leave the boxes to fuel the fireplace and the book for sale for those who care.

From the looks of it there have been 10,000 order numbers used up since noon PST. Lots of demand all at once.

    edit... make that 12,000

The site is still slow, even after 1hr 20 min.

    Must be high demand.

Orders from 30828*** to 20833*** from about 12:20 to 1PM. That's about 5000 orders difference.

Judging from some other numbers I see, my guess is we're over 10,000 orders.

    HAPPY COLLECTING!!!
  • I decided against the 2009 UHR at the last minute and instead purchased 33 roll sets of the 2008 Kennedy's for the same money.

Did you try ordering more than one?
  • Well that was a pain. Couldn't get through by phone. My web page was loading forever. Then I fired up a different browser and just clicked and ordered smoothly no waiting. Go figure.

The UHR is too steep of a price for me, although I really would like one. I wonder if I could trade a couple of 2008 w/rev 2007 SAE for one of those at some point; just a thought.

Don't forget, those are total US Mint products sold. Also the 2009 Kennedy rolls became available. My take is 2/3 of the above could be for the UHR

    16,000 sold. image

That's more than the mintage of the original High Releif $20, which was around 12,000.

With all the hoopla, these pieces could be selling at the melt price for U.S. government gold coins within a year. I’m not saying that’s an ironclad certainty. It’s just quite possible.

So why was I a lemming? I'm a collector, which is a form of madness.
