Who are our forum Veterans?
I've always wondered why we only have one day honoring our veterans so if you're a vet please post your branch and rank and for those who aren't vets post a coin/ medal honoring those who are.

Wouldn't trade my Army experiece for anything. Got to experience Italy for 12 months, got to experience terror 48 times - exiting various aircraft, and finally the ultimate experience of joy - getting out! Alive.
ps after experiencing various hardships - 15 mile Ruck marches, all night marches in the German Forests ( stationed in Italy but training was done in Germany ) - steamy sweaty manuevers in the Georgia Swamps, sub-zero training in Minnesota ( my sympathies to those that live there year round
I think most civilians truely don't appreciate what the US Military goes through to protect the interests of the USA. My life after the Army has been much easier, although I must say it's much more boring also.
If any youngsters out there are stuck at a fork in the road - no job, can't/don't want to go to College - I'd highly recommend service in the US Military. It's a true test by fire that helps you to grow up and also lets you travel and see some of the World. Most importantly it gets you through the period in life where you can't get a job because you have no experience. The Military gives you a job AND experience. But one warning - choose carefully. Choose your branch of service and your career field very carefully. I was offered some really choice jobs - electronics, nuclear power, and even service in the NSA. Like a young dummie my dummie Army recruiter led me into the Infantry because he swore I could finish up my degree, go to OCS, and become an Officer. Nothing doing - I just had to take it a step further, and sign up for the Super Infantry - 1st Ranger Battalion! No time for College Classes when you're off to Idaho, Minnesota, Panama, Texas, California, etc, every 3 months.
I look back and I swear I shoulda taken the US Navy up on the Nuclear Power Program. Or even the Army's offer of the NSA.
Oh well, what's life without a few poor choices?
