eBay cancels my auction 2 days after listing ended??
I have a question for the board. Two days ago, I sold a 1999 wide AM cent on eBay via Best Offer (BIN). The buyer paid me in full via PayPal that same day. Then today, two days later, I get a notice from eBay that my listing was removed due to a "policy violation," and presumably they also notified the buyer about the cancellation. But since the transaction had already been completed AND I've already been paid for this, what's to stop PayPal from automatically giving the buyer his money back? I checked my PayPal account, and as of now, the money is still there. But I am worried. What should I do? Thanks.

PayPal operates independently of eBay when it comes to auction closings. The only way they'd give the buyer his money back is if the buyer filed a claim.

Three days later, I got this from ebay saying the listing "has been removed by eBay for violating of one or more of our policies. Any offers or bids placed on this are now null and void. Because the auction was ended, you as a bidder are not required to complete the transaction. "
I don't remember seeing anything wrong with the listing, and now I can't go back and look to see what it might have been because it's gone.
I emailed the seller and he assured me everything was OK on his end. Two days later, I received the item and I'm happy. I emailed the seller again to let him know I got it and if it weren't for the ebay gustapo removing the option, I would have left him a good feedback.
It appears that every auction he had was cancelled. They looked OK to me.
Many times, I think they are going after the wrong guys. I think something should be done about the pages and pages of "replica" or "copy" or colorized Elvis, twin towers, etc coins that clog up the genuine coin listings. Maybe a separate category for non-coin (junk) and then remove those listings that in are in the wrong category.
<< <i>I figure eBay must have have some bots that automatically scan listings for such violations, as it's highly improbable that this type of thing would have been reported by a real person. >>
Don't be so sure- there *are* people who do just that.

Russ, do you know if paypal can hit an attached credit card or bank account in a dispute if there are no funds in the paypal account? I was under the impression that paypal is not authorized to charge either of the accounts.

You better listen to Joey the Sawzaw. If he said ebay will whack you Joey the Chainsaw knows.
Damn Joe, auction something will you. Ebay's whacked LMFAO!
I've had that happen a few times as well.

Since Russ may be "feeding his face" the answer is: They cannot ...
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
