This is further proof that 200x-W ASE's are modern crap and no better than melt...one caveat: Is it

If not, you are toast!!!!
If this auction doesn't sum it up.
Buyer got the coin from the Mint for $20+
Had it graded for $12(bulk) + $5 for First Strike.
Paid shipping 2 ways.
Photo'd the coin.
Put it up for bid on eBay....1/10th of a manhour(manhour=Your hourly rate)
Suffered trauma and anxiety as the bids pile up ever so slooooowly.
Ok, I can't think of anything else right now....help me out or call me on my mistakes!!

Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!
i did a little bit better at 26.51 but still lost grading/shipping/listing.... well you know...
the way i see it MS69 sells for the same as ungraded in mint packaging.
Waste of money was not on the coin but on the plastic and special label.
Same thing could have happened with an IHC or Walker half. Yeah I know no FS label.
Oh...and I found one that was worse yesterday:
Yuck!

Oh Man! What a waste!
And it has the Reverse of 07 as well!

Why get it graded = grading on these coins is a joke
First Strike = a joke

Right. I suppose the buyer of this First Strike is laughing his/her but off!
This one as well.
This buyer probably busted a gut!
Now this buyer probably has some reservations over the price paid but my guess is he/she can probably afford it.
The whole point being that First Strike™ collectors take their collecting just as seriously as any other collector regardless of what others think. Older First Strike™ SAE's that do not have any milk spotting can demand some serious money and when it comes time to resell, those thousand dollar SAE's will bring thousand dollar prices from the First Strike™ collectors. Especially if they have no spotting!
Of course, these are all pre-2005 coins and I don't see any of the post 2005 stuff as being particularly special with the exception of the MS/PR70 coins. Everything else pretty much sells for less than purchase/grading costs.
Once somebody sets their mind on picking these up though, there is usually no hesitance to belly up to the bar and pay the premium.

Put the two coins next to each other without any label and you can't tell the difference.....
I personally collect coins not hunks of plastic.....
We also don't really know if they are first strikes either, only they where released by a certain date, but that is a completely different story.....
Many members on this forum that now it cannot fit in my signature. Please ask for entire list.
people are finally starting to wise up and realize that grading bullion is a sham. As more realize this, the prices will nosedive along with submissions to the TPGs.

I'm the person that if an ASE goes above the 21 dollar range (dont care if its graded or not and this is W-mint marks only) I'm out of the picture. Why would I want to pay 21 for a coin that has a bullion worth of $10, then I factor the workmanship in, its not another 11 imo.
I think he paid too much!

Damn there Bully , you are funny. Hey, a coin club member had 2 sets of the 2006 3pc Gold Anniv sets.. I called four dealers, no one didn't even want to talk about them , let alone buy them. May be a good time to load up on some of this crap
No duh.
day one (and others). But it seems a few years ago, those others,
were in a minority. First strike made for some good flips and people
here loved them! Defended them! Wanted them!
how things change. just search for old threads and see...
notice how the 69 versus 70 debate is still being supported by some.
yet at PCGS, with bullion, the rawest rookie is given the assignment
to grade them... a ton of them... each day... so you know the TPGs
take it very seriously. ;-)
The question is what percent came back as 70's and how much are 70's going for? In my experience you'd be lucky to break even.
