Talisman Libertas Americana - Free at Last!
What good is it to leave a non-original medal* in plastic? I couldn't stand it any more, so I scissored it out.

Ditto. I took mine with me to Philadelphia. For no reason really, just felt like taking it to where its concept was probably born.

I don't even know if NCS would do so- holder in an oversized slab like NGC does, but I decided even if they do I like the idea of keeping it out of plastic. Like yours, they're fun to handle!

The US Mint restruck the First Medals of American in the '70's
The complete set of ten can be had for under $30 on ebay and even less if you are quick to snipe auctions. It comes with a nice booklet describing the history of each medal. They sell as singles also but the separate shipping adds to cost.
They could not restrike the Libertas medal with the set as it was struck in France. I had to shell out real money for the Paris Mint restrike.
I bought two sets so I could display the obverse and reverse.
Go for the set as the book that comes with it is a good read and a wealth of information on the subject.
The bronze?
The silver?
I believe that they are now sold out, and the prices may be more or less now. I haven't tracked the prices.
But even more important, on of my silver ones is free now too!!!!!

I bought one of each Silver & Bronze in 2006 - they live in a nice cherry frame that hangs over my desk, so I can be inspired by them every day - I am just curious as to current value.

I don't think I'll be selling the remaining ones I have.
I just tracked the sale of a 1983 Paris Mint issue on ebay last week that weighed 7.6 oz (unknown fineness) for $472.00.
