every time i walk into a B&M or an antique store i see gold for sale.
the only stuff close to melt is problem coins. the other gold coins are
marked up too much in my opinion for the grade.

as for bullion (gold) i need to start paying more attention. the last month
has been about silver for me.

There is plenty available if you are willing to pay an exorbitant premium... the difference between buy/sell is ridiculous. Cheers, RickO
  • My local B&M has nothing. They are paying $60 over spot for gold - kruegerrands, etc. And they are selling anything they get immediately for something above that. They are paying almost 10X for 90% silver, and it is also immediately sold after a small markup. Strange times.

no gold in the stores in my area even after their +50 dollar markup. I think the store in my area might close for a few days because last week they had no gold or silver for sale. People weren't even bringing any in to sell.

They will lose me as a customer because I'm going to buy and sell on the BST from now on. They offer to buy 90% from me for very low when I could sell it on the BST for a bit higher and still get it sold. Plus the markup on silver is so high, I'm like forget it.

Wish that was the case here. I was offered 96% spot for the gold I have on the BST at my B&M. Sometimes the guy will give me 97% spot if he's in a good mood.

I have to remind a local dealer how much business I have done with him the last few years to get him to part with gold. I think he just doesn't want me to have more than him. Another dealer, I bought a Krugerrand from him, and he said he was glad to get rid of it, because he apparently doesn't like buying or selling gold bullion.

I have been in several shops lately and have seen plenty of gold and silver available.
