"Really shiney after it was carefully cleaned w/Tarni-Shield Silver Cleaner w/anti-Tarnish Prot

Yes, that is an actual quote from this auction description , among others from the same seller. Thank goodness this guy only destroyed a handful of low-value coins. I think I'm going to drop him an email before he destroys something valuable.

Incomplete planchets wanted, especially Lincoln Cents & type coins.

Amazing... I run into it several times a week... People at work know I collect coins.. and often bring me coins to evaluate with the comment "They were dirty, so I cleaned them up so you could see them better.".... I do not see them better due to the tears in my eyes... Cheers, RickO

  • It's just so good that the original owner was a non-smoker. Because I'm sure the coins all picked up that non-smoker smell. How would a bare coin still smell like smoke after being cleaned? Can't happen.

Edit: Look at the Google ads, those of you who have not made them disappear. They are all for metal cleaners.

Well, he did say that his coins are CAREFULLY cleaned. You wouldn't want them recklessly cleaned, would you?

I am not for cleaning. But what is this stuff? (Tarni-Shield Silver Cleaner w/anti-Tarnish Protector by 3M). Is it abraisive?
