At 1st glance, this one looks heavily circulated....but it only has some rub on the high spots and I grade it AU+. Has this been re-toned to look like this??

Compared to the earlier dates, all 1921 Morgans look like Chinese counterfeits.

WOW!!! I never guessed a fake! I got this as a gift...it was bought at the B&M about an hour away. Interesting! But why would they make a fake of the most common date in the series????

It may have been lightly cleaned at some point, before and/or after being toned.
That kind of toning is not at all unusual for a silver dollar.
The lower curve of the “9” in the date “1921” is too short and is not even with the top curve of the “9”.
The "E" in "United" is off... it's too curved and the "D" in "United" is missing the tails, when compared to the example below. The coin in question does have that AT grayish, almost monotone toning to it as well but, if it is a counterfeit, it's a very good one, it would fool many.
Also, the breast feathers do not blend into the eagle's neck feathers, there's no transition, the breast feathers are just smooth but the eagle's neck feathers are still defined... the breast feathers appear to have been artificially worn.
As far as, why counterfeit a common date… simple, the Chinese are selling complete counterfeit sets in VF to EX condition, you can get a complete set of Peace or Morgans for $100… then sell off all the commons for $15 to $20 each (just sell about 5 and you got your money back), then sell the Morgan CCs for $120 and up, along with the semi keys, $100 here and $150 there, it's all profit. Just don’t try to sell the most expensive Keys because you’ll get caught by the higher end collectors…there’s a lot of profit in it that's for sure.
I’ve been raising the red flag to EBay and the ANA about this for months… no response, no one cares.

Thanks Jack....any idea if it has been cleaned/retoned??? I think it has, but I still like the overall look....(and I personally paid nothing for it!)
