Was at my g/f's house today where she lives with her dad and grandfather. Ive been with her coming up on 8 years now. Been down in the basement many times. Went down today to get something from the closet and in the corner behind some boxes I find this. I thought this was one of the coolest things ever. There was a little piece of paper with it, it looked like it said it was from 1913. Her grandfather didnt know if there were any coins in it and i couldnt get it to open. Anybody know anything about these and what it may be worth??

That is a really cool numismatic item.

BTW, after 8 years, when are you going to ask her hand in marriage so she can move in with you and leave her dad and grandpa??

  • National Cash register

Very cool item. Do a search on Ebay for "National Cash Register" . They are auctioning keys as well.
  • We had one like that, but not nearly as cool. Anyway, we located a lever on the bottom which opened the drawer. Look for holes, slots etc on the bottom and the rear of the register. Good luck and let us know what you find inside.

It's not likely there's any money in it but there might be under the drawer. image

I love those old cash registers. Wish I had one.

I'd be very surprised if there's any money in it though.
