Anyone have information on MEGS? I can think of a few names for the acronym.

A member of this message bourd sent me a photo of a MEGS slab, and I would appreciate any information on this grading company for my website.

    Sorry, I couldn;t resist!

    MEG ......... MEGS...........MEg.........Meg..................whatever.

If you could post that picture, it would be appreciated.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!
  • No information on this grading company. I do know the person that owns this holder reported a bad experience with coins in this holder, with some being fake or well over graded.

Any TPGS without a website, address, phone number or email are usually "self-slabbers" who grade their own coins, sell them, and don't accept submissions from the general public. These companies are not recommended unless one can tell, first-hand, that the coin is authentic, is problem free (not cleaned or damaged), and graded appropriately. If you have any information on this company send an email to help@coinauctionshelp.com

It looks to be the same type of holder used by Tru Grade and Nu Grade.

All I know is the dealer I got them from 5 years ago would not give up the source. The one in the photo is counterfeit. I did an extensive search on the internet and never could find much.

I have seen the slabs turn up at shows from time to time.

If somebody does have a cheap coin in a MEGS holder, please sell it to me as I need one for a project. Alternatively, I could use a high-resolution image.

  • I do appreciate all the help from all the members here, and for some of the humorous comments.

I think I will start making up disrespectful names for companies that have an acronym but no full name.

    Why not start with MEGS?

    Misinformed Estimate Grading Service

    Malicious Elite Grading Service

    Mangina EEEKKK! Grading Service

    Manly Estimate Grading Service

    Misguided Estimates Grading Service

    Master Ego Grading Service

    Monster Estimate Grading Service

Money Enters Grading Service's (Hands, but never to the slab buyer)

MEGS because we couldn't think of anything else that rhymed with SEGS

    Manic Excessive Grading Service

    Mojo Eats Grading Service

    Monkey Estimates (Our) Grading Sh**

More El-diablo Grading Snakes (In the Grass)

    Money Evolves Grading Sucks

    Money Eater Greedy Service

I don't know. What does everyone think?

  • I like the suggestions better than my own. I have one for ENGS since they like to threaten honest website owners.
