It's a American Silver Eagle Die Trial Adjustment Strike that somehow escaped the mint.

Sure is nicer than your pic of Eunice!!!!!
Where did you get her???
What is the grade?
It was like Xmas in July!
<< <i>Even has milk spots...how ironic ...
Yeah it is kinda funny!
<< <i>Looks like it was made in China. I hope you didn't pay any money for it.
Interesting coin. Probably more interesting to me if I understood how it was made.
Die Trials were tests of dies in various stages of production.
Die Trials also include "setup" pieces which were used to determine proper die alignments and striking pressures before regular production began.

Can you have a die adjustment on one side only? And a clip?

You could have a weak strike via struck through grease and a clip.

Surprised it wasn't considered for "First Strike™" since that's what it is.
The name is LEE!

NGC has designated it as a Obverse/Reverse Strike Through Mint Error.

Thanks!
Only, I really mean it........
Nice quarter as well, Stephanie!
Broadstruck-
Why do you consider the SE below to be a weak strike rather than a strike through [grease]? With a full rim and [presumably] full reeding I would have guessed a strike through. What characteristics are leading you to a weak strike error?
Lane
<< <i>Here's another with the same obverse/reverse characteristics, but as the rims are fully formed it's considered a weak strike instead of a die trial... it's also a dated 1986.
NGC has designated it as a Obverse/Reverse Strike Through Mint Error.
