No disagreement here. I'm getting rid of mine, too. They sell better as raw, if at all. In fact, I'm pretty much done with ordering from the Mint. If I want anything in the future, could probably find it on the bay for 1/2 price. I'll match your
Oh wow. I may have made some insensitive comments in a thread of ASE enthusiasts! I'm sorry!
Yes, i'd agree, that's pretty tough, slabbing one of those and realizing a price like that. I did not grasp that this loss was your personal loss! Sorry again!
<< <i>Anyone disagree??? I'm done with the ASE/AGE series.....looks like the market could give a ratz ass about a 'W' Mintmark!!!
A typical auction???.............................. eBay Link >>
The market has not given a ratz ass about the W Mintmark since 2007 for the ASE's & has never given a "ratz ass" for the AGE's since 2006.....should not be a suprise.... ( exception are the PCGS MS70's )
"Bongo drive 1984 Lincoln that looks like old coin dug from ground."
I bought 10- 07-W's on the BST for 210 dollars shipped.. And during the 08/07 craze I bought 2- 08-W's on the BST for 48.00 shipped.. I also bought 3 of the 07 uncirculated dollar sets with the 07-W for 24.00 each shipped
So I would agree I am done ordering from the mint.
But I still like the Burnished series because of the quality over the regular bullion I get at the B@M shop.
I was going to ask about sending one of my ASE in (no W) which is a 04 and probably a MS69. After reading this thread I'll just keep it in the capsule that it came in.
Firefox, Sabayon Linux and Open Source ALL THE WAY!
The '07-Ws sold for $21.95 from the Mint. Not too badly priced. The 08-Ws are way overpriced at $25.95 IMO.

Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set: 1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S. Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!
it is after all a bullion coin. Silver closed today at $17.50, and the seller got $22.50. Nice profit margin. The fact that the seller was naive enough to slab bullion, well its money down the ole' rathole in this case.
I disagree...what your upset about is the fact you spent more to slab it then what you could get....I'm sorry, but just because it wears a slab certainly doest mean a 69 FS (who really pays premium like an idea for a FS coin?) should net much more over silver spot......If it was a 70 it would net more, but there are so many 69's that it carry's no such premium price
I like ASE's, but I certainly dont slab them. The only ASE's slabbed are 20th anniversary's
If you are buying these to play dealer (buy raw, slab, sell), then you should learn the market and not whine. If you slab them, and want a profit, you play the game to get a MS70 out of them......then you hope you get enough of them to give you the profit you want after all costs. The MS69 will sell for raw, or just a little raw+, usually.
If you like your coins slabbed, for protection or a registry set, then you shouldn't be worrying about the price it brings like that, imho.
Else, learn to just buy them in deals like this rather than slabbing them yourself. Will save a lot of hassle

Easy big guy, it has not been that long since these coins sold out. Your statement reminds me of that commercial where the man buys a piece of art work at auction then wants to turn around and resell it at the same auction. I am sitting on 80 PCGS MS69FS that I bought from the mint and submitted myself and I have bought many more of the raw coins at these cheap prices.

There's millions of them? Tens of millions?
What is the issue? That's about the right price, correct? It's slightly more than an ounce of silver.
Maybe I don't get it. No, I honestly do not feel there is a difference between "W" and non "W" ASEs.
For what it is, an ounce of silver...what's the problem?
Okay, obviously I don't get it. The forum will fill me in i'm sure.
One thing I do get...at that price, it sure doesn't pay to put them in a slab!!!
Mint price for 2008's is $25.95+shipping. Then whatever pcgs charges.
Then there are eBay and paypal fees.

Not mine....I just have about 10 of them graded as PCGS MS69FS from the Mint....a total waste of grading fees for sure!!!

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
