Its a really good book. A bit historical novel, a bit civil war history, a bit of bio on the Lovett family and a darn good research work on the confederate cent. The authors cover everything CSA cent related from Lovetts patterns/tokens to modern copies. The Bashlow tokens are well researched and covered as well. A very good read.
Ive got one of these as well, and also the Beirn Magnolia Hotel token (also done by Lovett). Still very VERY much in search of Lovetts 1859 Marshall House token, and will pay dearly for one.
One of the interesting things the authors uncovered is that Lovett had a little 'trademark' which he used on his tokens that used this very popular French Liberty head. The star on the headband closest to the ear is half hidden under a lock of hair. This has enabled us to attribute his use of this design on coins'tokens he designed.

great history, great design ... and (IMO) the reverse on your example is nothing short of spectacular!!
