<< Ok, this is OT but since we haven't had any scans in a while.......I seem to have a hard time finishing or even getting close on my 2005 set despite receiving cards from both Kevin & Nick recently. I decided to look on line for a box and the pickings were pretty slim, I finally located 1 hobby box at Steve Harts (BBC Exchange).

They arrived Friday and I opened the packs over the weekend, a good box as far as SP's & chromes, etc. went until I pulled this:

Is anyone still working on this set? How about the chromes? I just picked up a whole bunch (~50) of chromes and they are all available for trade. I have a bunch of 2008 base card needs if anyone can help, thanks in advance. I also need a bunch of base from 2007 and 2005 (see my link below if you have any). I have sp's, inserts, etc available from this year as well as older years.

Yep , crazy but not stupid. The Musial has a print run of 100 and comes up less frequently than the Gordon cut out. I have seen them go for as much as 150.00.

In 2006, I hit a BIN of 39.99 during the first 2 weeks of the release and flipped it for 130.00 , figured I'd be able to get another at half the price, in time...lost my patience.

I'm 26 cards short of the 2008 Black Refractors if anyone has some for sale drop me a line.

Ya, I've missed out on the Musial a few times. I think a few have gone for less but don't recall exactly what they went for. I know I had some snipes set and some triggered and some didn't.
I didn't know about the print run so that does make a lot of sense.

I have a question regarding the box toppers for Topps Heritage. 2008 was the 3 card panels. 2007 was the felt circles. Did Topps do any box toppers for the years 2001-2006?

In 2004, there was a 15-card set of Doubleheaders. Each card depicts two players: the front of each card shows a players' full body, with the back picturing the top half of another player. By folding the card over, the back side player's torso aligns with the lower half of the player on the front (though I don't imagine too many collectors folded them). As with the Ad Panels this year and the Felt Logos from '07, they were available only in Hobby boxes and seeded one per box.

There were folding panel boxtoppers in 2004 Heritage. Included were some original 1955(?) boxtoppers.

In 2001 topps inserted 25 real 1952 Mays cards and had him autograph them. I brought this up a few weeks ago and low and behold a picture of one
made it into the new multi sport beckett. I have never seen a picture of one until then.

I was told by a local card dealer that some of the ad panels have the Smoltz and Santana variations. Has anyone seen or heard of either one of these?

This is a good time to fill in set holes. I am still looking for heritage and Ginter autographs and also rarer cards from both of those
sets. I also need a handful of cards from a few sets of mine. I have a HUGE assortment of SP, chromes and GU from past heritage
sets (all years). Also a mass of Ginter SP and minis. I also have other SP set stuff like Turkey Red and the Arod Road to 500 set.
If you have heritage autos or others things I need, lets work out a trade, I leave for the summer in a while and will be unable to
get to my cards for a while. When I come back in August, Ginter will be in FULL swing..and then only a few months to 2009 Heritage!!!!

I was at the money pit today and was buying some packs, they had some overpriced heritage from 08 and I decided to buy some.
4 bucks a packs isn't that expensive I guess. I was sure there was a Smoltz in there (there wasn't). After pulling a Garret Anderson
jersey card and a Wright chrome I decided to keep going. Im glad I did, a few packs later I see black!!!

Cole Hamels black refractor!!!! YES

I also hit three packs of 06 heritage and pulled one chrome and one refractor..nice!

Regarding Topps replacement policy for exact replacement, will they replace cards that are off center, but not otherwise damaged? I've sent them damaged cards before, but never off centered cards. I'm mainly talking about cards that are bad, bad...like 80/20 or worse.

I emailed Lockwood before Heritage went live, and he said he would not have any 2008 Heritage. I guess his supplier made him a great deal on leftover cases and he took some.
