Ok I got Hosed again. Coin show bit me in the wallet.

As I have told some of you before this AANTV on Direct Tv channel 324 back in Dec/07 did a switch a roo on me I bought a 1986/2007 ASE NGC pr 69 set from them for $825.00 plus 10% juice and shipping they sent me a Ms NGC 69 set instead. After viewing their tapes they deemed it was their mistake and gladly refunded my monies.

Yes most of you warned me buying stuff from TV shows.

Well I did it again, I was up about 1:30am a few weeks ago and they were selling 24kt gold nuggets from California, I made a bid on a lot that had a cool looking 1.2 gram nugget that looked like a eyeball, no kidding had some cool outlines, well I won the high bid at $52.00 with 10% juice and shipping and I got a box from the company, opened it up and it was a different nugget, not the one I won.

I called customer service and told them about what I won and what I got and some nasty lady stated as per state rules and auction rules they can send me any Gold Nugget in 24kt as long as it is the same weight. I told her BULLSHIRT. She said she doesn't understand my problem, I got a deal and a nice nugget, I told her I made a bid on a certain nugget that caught my fancy and wanted to make a necklace for my wife, the ETE NUGGET, she said well return it If I am not happy. Well I did with a letter and they still hit me with a 10% buyback fee.

Here's my question anyone live in Florida, I want to turn these clowns in for fraud. I guess I need the attorney generals office?

Have you guys heard of such a thing. You bid on a lot that you see and had TIVOed and they say they can do want they want?

I am not siding with them in anyway but it would seem in this case if you are bidding on a nugget.....you could expect to get a nugget with the correct weight but a specific one seems a little hopeful on your part. I would be more concerned with your decision making in regard to shopping online after being warned and then burnt once before. Sometimes you need to protect yourself instead of looking for someone else to protect you....just a thought image

Did you check the auction rules prior to bidding? Do they say that they can substitute an equal value item? If so, where is the fraud? You bought a nugget--they sent a nugget.

I don't understand your point. Since you are aware that they are selling multiples of the item being advertised, when would you ever expect to get the exact one that was shown on screen?

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

This was not a one off piece with a specific lot number? It was a group of xx number? If it was xx number you get what you get. But i see nothing wrong with buying a specific lot on a auction on TV, heritage or who ever. All i have ever bought was some books although i may buy something in the future. I would buy a slabbed coin if why i was paying for it they could provide the certificate number of the actual coin i was buying.

Cancel your direcTV since it is obviously costing you money and getting you into these issues.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

a good point as to why the average collector still needs coin shows and real B/M dealers....

instead of ebay and tv shows where everyone pretends they are the worlds biggest deal

You paid $62 for 1.2 grams of gold? Oh well, maybe you learned a cheap lesson. Stop it!

It's always buyer beware-on TV or internet. I doubt you will get much support from the state of FL in this case. I think it would have to be out and out fraud and a larger amount of money for your complaint to be taken seriously.

I don't want to sound demeaning, honestly. The safest thing you could do is to cancel cable or satellite service and then maybe your phone service.

Any one who buys from these TV hucksters needs to block those channels & have their head examined ... Lets see .. you paid the equivilant of approx $1400 per oz for that Nugget...

Let me see ....10% of $52 = $5.20. Attorney fees $450 to $650. Still want that number?

Once bitten twice shy. Have a image and chill.

It is buyer beware at most places not just the TV clowns. Ebay, dealers, shows and auctions all have risks involved. You just need to lower the risks to a level you can live with it.

Ok here's the fraud, I went back on my Tivo after reading a few of you guys comments, and each LOT is clearly shown on the tv screen, it stated lot 4111b item number 320824 and each item shown on the screen is the same you would buy at any auction house. Teletrade, Heritage so on. Also I called another customer service person today and got a different answer and a sorry given to me. The lady said that although there might say 15 1.2 gram nuggets the one on the screen with the lot# and item number is the one you won. She also looked at the picture of the investigation I asked for and someone switched it, but as she says it happens you got the wrong nugget.

So I get a sorry and a $100 cash card to be used at another time. The lady also told me boy you are having a terrible time with us, I see you have had 3 returns and everyone wasn't your fault. I hope this puts a little more understanding of where I am coming from.

Some principles are always worth fighting to defend. Some frauds create a financial loss so great they are worth persuing.

Other times you have to weigh what seeking revenge or restitution will cost you in terms of quality of life and peace of mind. How many hours of your attention and thought is $60 or $6 worth?

Recover what you can quickly from them and move on, don't allow your effort to do something nice for wife, which did not come to pass, cause you to be so miserable.

Let me see if I get this atraight.... you buy item #1, and they switch it on you. You return the item for a refund.

Then you buy item #2, and they switch that one on you too.

Ummmmm......... how many more will it take for you to learn to avoid them?

Listen friend......... can't you set-up your system so that station will be jumped over when you're surfing your stations? You learned your lesson, let it go, and just say no.

    Hey Yaha...wondered where you've been!

They've misrepresented what they're selling if they switched the product. In this case you'd have to go back and check the fine print. I'd file a complaint with the Better Business B in any case just to get their goat and have a complaint against them on file. There's probably nothing to be gained on any legal avenue...remember they have lawyers as well.

Maybe that nugget was in Elvis P's pocket before he croked? I am finished with those guys, you guys are right, I did however get some great deals from them in the past, but won't let you know because 69% of you would say Yaha you paid too much, Yaha, Yaha, Yaha. I just don't understand at the age of 47 years old, when I was somebody back 20 years ago, I was held accountable for stuff like this. 2008 and no one gives a Crap!!

Man, Yaha.... I care a lot. This is why I suggest turning off the television. We are programmed through such things. They get you in the middle of the night when you can't sleep. That's when you should go to ebay and see if you can't snipe some PCGS gold coins. Even NGC is fair game on eBay. Teletrade, Legend, David Lawrence Rare Coins and even nuggets can all be found right here. You should know by now that better deals are where your comrades are. Come on man, put on a pot of coffee in the night and go shopping like the rest of us geeks image
