I found this display box with 2 pencil sets in it - the guy was asking $2100 for it!
The site is down now - so I couldn't press to blow it up - I increased it a bit tho:
And last - here's a guy on ebay with the same set - asking $150 or best offer - states it's from the 60s - which would make sense since it's a young Mick but the fax sig on the pencil is not his 50s sig.
The Pirate sticker set is incredible - I've never seen it before! Has a '60 copyright - wonder if it was made to capitalize on the 1960 WS win by them?
I have a couple of things here. Not sure of their value. First, I have a players contract of the late Jim Beauchamp from 1962. It has his signature plus the signatures of Cardinals GM Bing Devine and HOF'er and NL president Warren Giles.
Second, I have a 1962 brochure of Mickey Mantle giving batting tips. Any info on this would be appreciated.
Also, here is 3 1971 Milk Duds unopened boxes that I just sold. I have showed them here, but just in case you didn't see them....
Those Mick pencils are awesome and the fact that these point of sale displays survive is pretty amazing to me.
I love the graphics on those Pirates stickers too... I want some for my box scooter!
Fleer did put out some cool stuff after they presumably lost their rights to produce player cards. I know with football it is mostly team logo stuff and these items are typically pretty cheap either due to limited collector interest of knowledge.
This is one of the better threads we have had in a while. Thanks for sharing everything guys. Some awesome items. I have two seats from Dodger Stadium installed at center court of my backyard basketball court. My wife has the camera but I will share later. They are from the seat change a few years ago.
With apologies to regular readers of the "Mail Call" thread, as I have shown this item there originally, but here is a World Football League (WFL) coaster set given out at the inagural games in 1974. The set includes 13 coasters, one with the WFL logo, and the others bearing the logo of the 12 teams that at least initially comprised the short-lived league.
This is unquestionably my favorite piece of WFL memorabilia (not that there is much to choose from) and probably favorite item overall in my defunct professional football leagues collection at the moment.
Lake To Lake I presume? The era is about right and I believe they did a number of Green Bay area premiums. Incidentally, what did (does?) Lake To Lake used to make anyhow and how were these distributed (i.e. back of a cereal box)?
Well, in the spirit of this thread AND pure jealousy of my good friend Ryan I just grabbed these off the Bay- suprised about the price though-I only paid around $16 shipped for these, the sellers claim they are originals but either way I dont care.
Way to go Paul! Nothing better than cool, affordable old stuff! Thats why this forum is awesome. We can share our collections...and inspire others to add to theirs. There are also cool Doak Walker and Johnny Lujack ones on ebay now.
Of all the games I own, this is by far my favorite - it's the Mickey Mantle's Big League Baseball.
Yes, I've shown it before - that's why it's my favorite!
There's no date on the box but the last stat is 1958 - so date it late 50s to early 60s.
Now what makes my game extra special? - is the fact that this card is usually missing when people go to sell the set:
Now - my next favorite - is from 1908 - Peg Base Ball made by Parker Bros.
I've got a new game coming that's got the possibility of giving me heart failure - it's from 1928 and in incredible condition! I want to wait till it comes in to report on it.
Great stuff guys! I haven't seen much basketball yet so I'll add a few of my pieces.
First is a 1977-78 NBA Superstar socks card. This was used as the header card for packs of tube socks. They are usually tough to find, I've got 3 so far.

This is a 1977 Pepsi 8x10. These are printed on card stock and again pretty tough to find. I've seen sets of these that were sealed in shrink wrap but am not sure of how or where they were distributed.

Yowza, look at the print on that Pistol Pete... quintessential 70s!
I thought I'd bring this one back to the top one more time. I collect anything that pictures Kareem Abdul Jabbar. I've got cups, glasses, cans, puzzles, etc. This picture shows some shelves in my office, they are in disarray at the moment but they do show a few of my favorite items, store model basketballs. Here are a couple of 80's Magic Johnson basketballs, a Kareem ball from the 70's and a Kareem ball from 1989. I also have an Alcindor ball that I just got, never used still in the original photo box.
I also collect Roger Staubach endorsed footballs in the picture box if anyone wants to see some of those.

Not sure if these things are cool to anybody but packers fans. Thanks to Brad (clydecoolidge) I'm pretty close to finishing the set.
Snorto~
Some of them are real easy to get and some are pretty tough. Brad had some extras of the tough ones and helped me out a lot!

A 1961 Topps Magic Ruboff
For me - what happened was simple - I would post an item and it would get zero interest - I guess I just didn't have the right stuff?

I can`t begin to tell you how many posts i`ve started that got either 0 replys or a couple from somebody who remembers me and replys out of kindness.
