metals price correction soon or what?

I'm planning on purchasing some silver bars, possibly some gold and or platinum, and was wondering if you guys think there will be any significant price correction soon. I'm looking at a price drop of silver of at least $1-2, not sure about gold or platinum. There doesn't have to be a significant correction for me to buy but it would definitely help aim my plans.

I'm also interested in traveling to a company somewhere in Massachusetts and purchasing the bullion (most likely silver bars) and want to know of some places a little south of Boston, or north of Providence, RI that sell.

Traveling to Massachusetts to buy? From where? If close by, never mind.. just thinking of transporting all that PM... If you are waiting for a drop, no one can surely predict that.. just be prepared to move when it does happen. Cheers, RickO

By traveling I just meant driving cuz I live in Mass north of Providence but south of Boston. I could purchase online but I like the idea of driving to a retailer. Anything within 30 minutes or so is cool.

Do the retailers prices change daily with the daily change in metal prices or do the retailers change their prices less frequently?

Well, you can take it however you want. If people could predict a correction why would the price go up? I predict Platinum will drop. It has been said by many professionals that Silver should be at $50, Gold at $2K to make up for all the stagnant years. If you believe it buy. If you don't get mutual funds.

Platinum has stronger fundamental issues than either gold or silver. As such platinums price has more basis than gold or silver.

if it does have a small drop - it won't last long IMHO -- be ready to jump in car quickly or click, whichever you choose.

At least one of the platinum mines in South Africa is expecting to be at 90% power for the rest of this year. And several gold mines are being shut down due to the power problems. Should remain bullish for the metals prices.

  • I am strongly considering selling my gold and plat eagles. If I do go forward with the selling, history would suggest this is the early stage of a strong bull market. image

Weds we should see a substantial pull back in Plat prices...
I base this on the fact that I bought almost 4 oz today......

I been buying in, with small purchases, on the BST-Bay-B&M dealers over time. Unless we get a nice drop or a good deal, that is the best way for me.image

-Actually all South Africa mines will be given 90% power projected to 2012. Only Anglo-Ashanti believes it can make up 5-10% of that loss by the end of 2009.

A slow, steady accumulation has been my approach rather than trying to time the dips.

Stop thinking you'll never do anything. Put in a little every week and average up/down and you'll be fine if your timeline is 2 to 3 years. Just don't be putting the kitchen sink in your investments so your forced to sell.
