Over 1800 ebay auctions 100% positive...then this nit-wit

whacks a neutral on me!..... carpwizard01 ......

Here is the auction #280200723890

Auction closed on 2/16/08...he pays on 2/18/08.....we ship on 2/19/08....he receives item on 2/22/08

So he calls the store today mumbling about something my wife could not understand, so she tells him she will call him right back...........she tells me he called so I pull up the auction...tracked the package, saw that it got delivered this morning,

So my wife calls him back (this is within 10 min.) and asked if there was a problem with the coin....he says no, but he did not think that the wrapping/ packaging was up to par???

My wife asked again was there any damage........he says no, but there could have been, because of the way it was packaged......my wife soon realizes that this guy is having a bad day or he
is a numb-nut, or both...

She listens to his rambling for a couple min. and then thanks this nit-wit for bringing this ????? whatever to our attention...he then ask if we have anymore proof sets that we sold last week (1961)

I told her yes we have (4) then he starts to rant that the listings last week were screwed up because people could not tell that they were proof sets blah blah.......she again thanks him for the purchase and so on, says goodbye......everything's fine. So my wife and I are talking about it and I said some of the ebay folks are just out there, you gotta kiss there butts sometimes even if your right,

and told her that it will get worse with the new feedback rules !

Anyway as usual I had already left pos. feedback..................never again! so I just sent him a message through the system which I'll probably regret, and of course blocked him!

Thanks for allowing the vent........BTW we have never had a single complaint about our S&H.....always praise.

was over and above what I would have expected for a freebie.

There will always be people with a screw loose.

With the new e-bay rules there will undoubtedly be some undeserved negs but everyone will have to go through this. It will be acceptable to have 1 or 2 negs every few months for most buyers when evaluating a seller.

I have had two like that before. Ther eis no pleasing them. I charged $8 flat for shipping. Sent it Priority and insured. He saw the postage on the envelope at $7.90 and went ballistic. Cost 39c I think at the time to mail the guy a dime, taped to a 1c index card in a nickel envelope. He didn't neg me, but didn;t leave feedback altogether. BTW, I shipped it out the same day I got his check, no hold whatsoever.

I'm just waiting for that to happen to me. I managed to settle down a few people who forgot their meds, but I'm sure it will happen to me sooner or later. Just grin and bear it. It does seem good sellers have fewer and fewer avenues of recourse.

looks like he has 12 retractions in the last year. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's alot of retractions for one year. I only have like 3 retractions since I joined ebay eight years ago.

negative.......the envelope has to be at least a 1/2 in thick or they get returned I believe, if you read our feedbacks they are glowing when it comes to S&H.

The biggest complaint that I ever got was on a 99 cent medal. It seems that the cheaper the item sells, the more likely the buyer will be a putz.

This bidder is future trouble for sure. He only has one negative, but has handed out 22 negative and neutral feedback to sellers. This is because he always waits until a seller has left feedback first and then looks for any minor reason he can find to screw sellers on the feedback. This is one of those guys that will really shaft sellers after the new feedback policy is in full swing. Look at the feedback he has left. He leaves negatives if the merchandise takes more than 10 days after auction end to arrive. I blocked him.

Lets face it. All sellers are going to be in the same boat with feedback. While I think sellers should continue to focus on customer service, kow towing to the demented on ebay simply does not make sense.

After the new feedback rules are in effect and all buyers have positive feedback, it appears that the only way to try and figure out which buyers will be deadbeats is to use Toolhaus to view the feedback buyers have left for sellers in the past. If a buyer has left negatives, we should be able to see the seller's reply. If they reply, "buyer didn't pay and then left me a negative" or "buyer left me a malicious negative for no reason" and if there is a pattern of malicious negatives by the buyer, then we can block them. Anyone else know of a better way to filter them out? I am afraid to copy and paste other blocked bidder lists because a few might be blocked unjustly?

Funny. I feel like this original thread helped me avoid a potential problem seller. We are for the most part friends on this forum. The only reason I bumped this thread was to expand on the OP's comments with the new info I found after being contacted by the person the OP brought up.

There are a lot of ebay threads here. If you do not like ebay threads about coin sales on this coin forum, pretty simple, don't open them.

This nutjob emailed me a couple of weeks ago asking me why he was on my blocked list. I didn't answer him but he was there for a reason. Never did business with him before so I must have added it when I saw this post from the first time. Thanks for saving me from a potential migraine!!

thanks for the heads up, i blocked the clown. i just completed a rant with ebay including telling them a similar story and they responded, the usual, "nothing we can/will do" ebay doesnt take the feedback seriously or it wouldnt be possible for a buyer to handout neg after neg, there is a common denominator with 40+ negs. my response to ebay was basically, that if ebay doesnt take the feedback system seriously why should the sellers ? laugh it off, i would be surprised if that douchebag isnt seeking sellers with 100% just to tarnish thier feedback. ifn that case i will unblock him. hope he buys something from me, and i will send him a box full of dog schit. and i will make sure its packed with care.
