Both coins are 1896 Morgan Dollar PCGS MS63s.

Well, if you wanted an 1896 morgan, which would you want? image

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I certainly wouldn't buy the one that looks like it was just pulled out of a container of Ezest. Guess that's what they call eye appeal. Although it's a little "too much" for me.

image Not as vibrant as the $300 one but a slight better than the $40 one image

    Thanks.
Got it from K6AZ about 3 years ago or so. Darker than I would normally like but a nice one. He knows his morgans.

I would take the white one in a second. The other looks cleaned/retoned to my eye.

That first one looks nice, if I had the spare dough to put down I might consider it. At a certain point every blast white Morgan looks the same and a little color makes them interesting again. Not so sure I really care about borderline previously cleaned and re-toned. It's still pretty.

As long as people are willing to pay 10X for pretty coins versus white ones, people will create pretty coins for them. Some of these coins will slab. Many people don't know how to distinguish between naturally and artificially toned coins, and many others don't care.

They won't have to worry about me bidding this toned one up.

Bring either of them into my local dealers and you will likely be offered 20-40% back of bid.
