...200+ in 1/2 a day. Most and quickest response of topic I seen yet. Am sure I will be repeated somebody...I would not get into "it" on BST. It is unfair to others, to push them off the first page quickly. Most people around here, know what they are doing and are not likey to knowingly misrepresent a sale. If it is a major "issue", PM the seller or if think still out of line, post it here.................
God, i've read through 11 pages of this thread and I think the point everyone is missing is the way you critique a coin.
"Holy Sh** that is the nastiest POS coin I've ever seen. I wouldnt touch it with a 10 foot pole and neither should any person with half a brain."
VS.
"Hmm, I see what you mean, but do you think that coin might be slightly overgraded at that price? It seems to have alot of bag marks to warrant that grade, don't you think?
If you are not buying selling or trading then do not reply.
The b/s/t is not a discussion forum, the us coin forum is.
So either buy sell or trade there, or keep your fingers off the keyboard.
My opinion. >>
I get it now! Its fine to critique auction after auction from ebay, but when it comes to selling DOG coins, or overhyped coins in the BST, shhhhh, dont say a word! Or would you prefer me to simply link the BST dogs for sale to this forum, and discuss them here? >>
who appointed you sherif of the BST, and why should I value your opinion over the sellers. People here are not idiots, and I seriously doubt they need your input on someone elses material.

I've looked at the auction and the BST thread.
I've a question and a statement.
1. It is unclear as to whether the coin is still slabbed. 2. The Stack's description within the eBay description says that the coin is on the cusp of being fully gem (or something like that). Doesn't this already imply that the coin will probably not make 65 based on the Stack's auction description?
There is no "pack mentality" here. People are simply agreeing that your "critiques" were unnecessary and had absolutely no value. It doesn't surprise me either, because the way you've carried yourself on these boards since your initial flareups a few months ago has been downright embarassing.
You need to learn that you are not always in the right. YOU need to be more open minded and take other people's opinions to heart more often. It's something I had to learn to do too.
Hopefully your not so socially unfit to not even be able to get along with people on an online forum.

If I was at a table, and you said that about my coins, I'd ask you to leave. If you have the nerve to say that directly to a dealer's face then you truly lack any sense of manners. Didn't anyone ever teach you social skills? There's different ways to say you disagree with the grade than being an outright jerk about it.

As usual Steve, I will disagree with you. For no other purpose than to play the devil's advocate.
Whereas I believe that it is bad form to give unreasonable forms of negative opinion, I also believe that it is proper to comment on items on the BST when proper. Sometimes, we give ourselves too much trust to the BST because it is part of the CU Message Boards. But let's be realistic. We hope that the BST is better than eBay, and I tend to believe so. However, there is still the marketing puffery that still exists on eBay, as well as the belief by some that we can sell at higher prices just because it's on the BST.
To the specific point in question, no matter how unreasonable Gecko may be in his comments, I agree with him in principle regarding the Seated Dime. Like I said before, the Stack's Auction description states that the coin was "on the cusp of fully gem", which to me implies not quite 65. Yet, the BST poster said/implied that it was Lock 65 and maybe 66. Should we trust the Stack's Auction Description or the OP? I dunno. I haven't seen the coin in hand and am not ready to make an opinion. Neverthless, Gecko is "correct" in urging caution when there are differing opinions.
But I ramble. Like I have stated previously, the CU Message Board members may disagree at times, and we may sometimes disagree in ways that are not pleasing.
Here is a demonstration of an intelligent person reacting to my title alone.
"Is it bad policy to critique the coins offered on our BST?"
Hmmmm, I see members here critique ebay auctions constantly, this question brings up the issue of whether board members who post on the BST should be held to a different standard than random ebay sellers.
For a mental midget such as yourself, who only responds with knee jerk reactions, I can see how YOU may have failed to make such a leap in the thought process. If you cannot debate with me on my level Steve, at least save yourself the embarrasment of me owning you in this and any other thread.
That is fine Mike, did you bother to read that seated dime said he would pay back a pct.if the coin didn't and if it did he would expect more dough? (if the coin did or didn't grade 65 or 66)?
And what does that one thread matter anyway? The OP asked a general question, that was just one of a few examples he later used.
He know wants to twist he way out of everything that he has said, Like a dog chasing his tail he has changed his thoughts on this topic numerous times. Just because he used Ebay to compare the B/S/T in his original post he now claims that that was the original thought all along. To that I call BS. If it was he would have said so in the Title.
"Is it bad policy to critique the coins offered on our BST?
He was told by almost 100 people yes in various ways that it is indeed wrong. Only a cement head with argue.
Reasonable people would take the advice given and learn from it.
Whats wrong Steve, I thought you were bored. Whats wrong pal? Did a couple of people jump on you and now your "pack mentality" muscles are gone? Or are you sick of being exposed for your lack of intellect, as well as your lack of original ideas and opinions? Just do yourself a favor, whenever Russ, or Bochi, or any of the other good ole boys say something, just let your eyes glaze over and agree with them as always. It will save you from countless headaches caused by actually thinking on your own for a change. I'll catch ya in the morning pal.
I shouldnt have to spell everything out. Believe it or not Steve, there are several very intelligent people in these forums who knew EXACTLY what my post was about just from the title alone. You really view yourself as a type of romantic (in the traditional sense of the term), don't you? You must view yourself as an individual struggling against conformist standards of society--the lone individual who in reality knows the General Will of the public. No matter what anyone else says you must assert yourself prove everyone else wrong.
Unfortunately, the people here aren't a large group of conformists that group together into a large "pack mentality." It just happens to be a group of people that all disagree with you because the way you've carried yourself is ridiculous.
People who critique ebay auctions do so because the auctions shown are typically scams. I have no problem with how you handled the Seated Liberty Dime thread, as it was done with at least some sense of politeness, however to flame the $10 lib thread in such a rude manner was unnecessary. It's fine if you want to say something about a coin, you just don't need to be such a rebel and be a jerk when you do it.
Any shred of legitimacy you had in my mind left after this thread. You're a joke.

For a mental midget such as yourself, who only responds with knee jerk reactions, I can see how YOU may have failed to make such a leap in the thought process. If you cannot debate with me on my level Steve, at least save yourself the embarrasment of me owning you in this and any other thread.
and if it did he would expect more dough? (if the coin did or didn't grade 65 or 66)?
And what does that one thread matter anyway? The OP asked a general question, that was just one of a few examples he later used.
He know wants to twist he way out of everything that he has said, Like a dog chasing his tail he has changed
his thoughts on this topic numerous times. Just because he used Ebay to compare the B/S/T in his original post he now claims that
that was the original thought all along. To that I call BS. If it was he would have said so in the Title.
"Is it bad policy to critique the coins offered on our BST?
He was told by almost 100 people yes in various ways that it is indeed wrong. Only a cement head with argue.
Reasonable people would take the advice given and learn from it.
Steve
really delusional.
How many people here piled on you?
100?
ok so it is 100 to 2.
I win you lose, and don't ever think you are smarter then me.
You are not.

I shouldnt have to spell everything out. Believe it or not Steve, there are several very intelligent people in these forums who knew EXACTLY what my post was about just from the title alone. Its an issue of double standards to be sure. If you could not glean at least that much from the 1st post, well, I understand not everyone can be as sharp as I give them credit for. Secondly, when I post a question as a thread, im not the sheep that you guys want to say "oh yeah, thanks guys". I know that you and a few other of the "good ole boys" love that type of cowering behavior. But in the real world, with a real issue, its more along the lines of I ask a question, you give your opinion, and we debate why each of us feels this way. If you are neither smart enough, nor adult enough to engage in an actual exchange, rather than just spurting out your feelings, and leaving it at that, may I suggest you join a forum thats a little more your speed. Perhaps something along the lines of romper room, or maybe theres a forum on Dora the explorer that you could explore. Im sure that you will find plenty of people there who will bow down to your opinions without challenge.

My last post tonight Steve. So you say its 100-2, you win? Do you realize that not too long ago, it was 10,000 to 1 about the earth being flat? Who "won" that one Stevie? And you say im not smarter than you,
That is why.
I would have stopped after the 2nd page of this post
I would have gotten the advice I asked and moved on.
That makes me smarter then you.
That makes you a dope.
Steve
The first intelligent thing you said all night.

Are you aware that in 1848 the Revolution in France that promoted romanticism was crushed? You're 160 years too late.
I don't think he has ever had any.
