His auctions should be reported for not having full pictures of the slabs

That was just what I was thinking.

I thought fleabay was requiring a picture of the slab itself, not the a statement that it was slabbed.

Maybe we should all report him, add a few more hassles to this flipper's shaky attmept at gouging somebody on the bay.

And how many people here have complained when they made an honest mistake and had their ebay auction ended? So you want to rat on him? Does that really make you feel better? It doesn't make me feel better.

Two quick observations here. 1). If either auction gets reported, they will be cancelled. 2). The prices for these coins have dropped a bit over the past two years based on the teletrade sale price. Russ is correct in his assesment of the likelyhood of the coin not selling for 2250. If it does sell, it will be because someone did not do their homework and the buyer will regret the purchase later. Kudos to Russ for fishing this one out and putting it on here.

    Hockeyfan,
I think your misunderstanding what I was saying. If they are breaking the rules, they shouls be reported.

I didnt bring this subject up. I just support it. An honest mistake fine, but when he can try to flip something for that much, maybe he should take the 30 seconds it will take to READ THE RULES!

I wouldn't be certain. All he probably had to do was ask. Why do you think he needs it in writing?

He isn't doing anything illegal or unethical. I wouldn't report him for a technicality. Many people reported my auctions on technicalities and I didn't reciprocate. I wouldn't report anybody for a rules violation if they were innocent of any mischief, deception, or intent to do bad. I know many disagree with me and I certainly wouldn't fault them for feeling the need to report him. In the real world I might call you a "do-gooder" but the world probably gains a net benefit from dogooders.

    << <i>I wouldn't report him for a technicality. >>

This is what I don't get. There are enough people on eBay selling counterfeits and misrepresented items, not to mention the listings for coins the "seller" doesn't even own which get posted about regularly enough here. I'd think catching up with those folks would be more important than hassling people who, aside from violating one or more of eBay's numerous rules, aren't really hurting anybody. Apparently, a lot of people here don't agree.

If your feeling playful go tell the seller your interested in the coin at his price with the stipulation it's never been offered for sale on teletrade because you swore by everything holy you would never have one of their coins in your collection and see what he says..

I doubt that. I sure hope not.

It's just that I've seen you jump to some pretty quick conclusions in the recent past.

Fact is, this flipper is in violation of the rules. Rules the rest of us have to comply with.

That's my story, because it's the truth, and I'm stickling to it.

    Take care.

Illegal? Maybe, maybe not. He is using Teletrade's images, and it's unlikely he sought permission. But then plenty of eBay sellers do the same thing and I've never seen Teletrade protest, so they probably don't care.

However, an act does not need to be illegal to be sleazy. And, this is sleazy.

I'd like to note for the record that I didn't report him. I didn't feel the auctions crossed over in to anything that could be considered hazardous to potential buyers.

    Wow! Take a look!
Seems he had several different ones with varying prices. Some have sold. Looks like the images were shuffled around a bit and he used a combination his/Teletrades. I got confused trying to trace them.image Looks like connie now has the two that the OP brought up. He gave $2,750 + juice (around $3,000) & sold 'em for $4,000 minus fees ($3,800?)

Why do you guys waste your time worring about others.

I post on the same name as my acct on ebay.

If they gain why do you complain.

I understand alerting the community but more the less you are out to hinder someone else.

Look this thread was here to state what happens if it gets lost in the mail. But its more than this

Its a free market let the free market determine its worth disregard the venue........

I agree I lose respect for one that post these topics. I orignally thought good about OP but he feels to bring this person a problem

Which infact cause this ebay item to be closed. Actually both of them

    Shame on OP.

Let the seller worry about this kind of problem. Are you the internet police. If you are Handle it With Care.

But your not because the investigations dont become a public announcement like you make it.

    Cheers

I did not see who the ebay seller was in this case, so my next comments are general in nature and not directed at any particular ebay seller.

For a while there, what was happening was folks were buying Teletrade coins on Sunday, posting them for sale on Monday on ebay and if they did not sell a week later, returning them to Teletrade with some "BS" story that they did not like the coins. After this went on for some time (with some nice profits on the coins that sold), I took the position with Teletrade that if I consigned a coin to them and it was sold in their auction and then publicly offered for sale by the Teletrade buyer elsewhere, I considered that sale FINAL notwithstanding any general return privilege language to the contrary. Ian agreed in theory with my position and told me this would be addressed in the terms and conditions to ensure it would not happen to Teletrade consignors. I never followed up to see if it was actually documented in the TT terms and conditions of purchasing from their auctions.

You are right on Wondercoin, as I will not say the items I recently sold and other items I sold on Teletrade in the past, I just got burned on Platinum on Teletrade a few weeks back and I know damn well the buyer tried just that to flip somewhere else.

With Platinum tanking and I guess he/she didn't sell the coins on ebay or anywhere they tried, I am stuck with coins on the way back to my home. I have told teletrade 'THIS IS IT!!! I have had a expensive coin on your auction house for over a month, you get your fee for the first buyback, then you get your fee for the buyer to return it and I the seller is stuck with my coins and out time and $100.00 buyback.

This has happened more than 10 times this year and Teletrade has lost a good customer, ME.

Their response was yes you have had alot of returns for unforseen reasons but they feel/Teletrade that I get a better experience with a auction house like them instead of on going problems at Ebay.

Dirty rats and scum in this world, I and others try very hard to make a buck and play by the rules and the scum seems to win all the time. How bout them apples!!!

I too, dont mind seeing the big crooks or rip off artists getting reported and I applaud you guys that report them.

But the rats that report minor or technical infractions, you guys need to get a life. Does EBAY pay you squeelers for your services?

Let the turd take his own photographs rather than stealing TT's. I'm sure TT is not going to releast their hard work to a jamoke without taking a share of his profit. Why would they give it away for free and invite his competition?

The next step for this turd is stealing photos of the coins he never owned and stiffing buyers when he fails to deliver. Nip it in the bud.
