How do you neg. a seller on Ebay without getting a retaliatory neg.?

By waiting until the last seconds of the 90-day feedback window?

Wait until sellers can't give anything but a positive any more...

That's just one issue with eBay. Doing a forum search on eBay will turn up many more.

Wait about a month. Then let him have it. That what e-bay wants you to do.

Is there "feedback sniping" software available to do this?

If eBay's proposed feedback changes take effect, this would become obsolete software rather soon.

I think I'm going to pick up a few bucks by selling my feedback on auctions I won to bring down my price for a coin. I have to have at least free shipping no matter what the auction says.image J/K

Waiting for the feedback change to go in to effect won't work. That isn't happening for another three months, which puts it outside the current 90 day window.

Shoot, you will have to leave neutral feedback and buy something else after 90 days so you can let him have it.image

Except that a neutral will stlll often cause a retaliation negative.

Leave feedback on day 89.5. Hopefully by the time he/she notices it will be too late.

I don't know. I just leave feedback whenever it's convenient for me, and I don't worry about what the seller might do. I have received a couple of negs in retaliation, but as far as I can see, it hasn't caused me any problems- nobody has ever asked why I have them or denied me the opportunity to bid in their auctions because of them.

This is a good point. If I have a buyer with negs that are obviously retaliation from some slimeball seller, I don't even give it a second thought.

The same way you neg a buyer on eBay without getting a retaliatory neg.

If I leave feedback on Day 89 plus 23 hours + minutes, does that mean the seller can't leave me a neg. in return, once the 90 days runs?

No. This theory does NOT work. There are ways to leave feedback after 90 days, sometimes LONG after.

A few months ago, when calculating "seller satisfaction" ebay began counting "negatives and neutrals" against the sellers...so a neutral is a negative.

CoinsPlusInc has interesting terms of sale...

If you want a positive, leave a positive. If you want a negative, leave a negative. We have never left a negative for someone who left us a positive. We will leave a negative in response to a negative because, at that point, it becomes a negative experience for us as well. We are not vengeful people. We want to make friends and customers across the globe.

Most times you'd leave a Negative to a buyer is because they failed to pay.

The unpaid strikes system would still be in place. You'd still be able to report the item not paid for to eBay. I would think eBay would have the buyer's account suspended after so many unpaid strikes, as is already in place. They may even make it stricter, and make the buyer aware that not paying for stuff can have them suspended or cancelled very readily ....in exchange for sellers not being able to leave negatives.

As the economic situation worsens here in the US ....no pays and fraud are obviously going to increase on eBay.

I've never had a high dollar buyer that didn't pay, and they are the ones that pay the fastest.

The free picture gallery and lower base fees will benefit the lower dollar item sellers the most. So there would be more incentive to sell lower dollar items ...just that lower dollar items means alot of no pays and unreasonable expectations of buyers. My experience reading over a seller's feedback is, most times they got a negative, it was over a low dollar item situation.

It is the buyers on eBay seeking to get something for nothing that cause most of the problems. Sell high dollar items, those people aren't anywhere around.

If a buyer fires off a neg with no contact or attempt to let you know what they are unhappy about, they deserve the neg....I have had 1 and gave a neg in that situation. Alot of buyers do not want any feedback at all because they are resellers or something, I get that alot, " thank you, I love the purchase, but please no feedback ok? "

I'm, not at all worried about the new feedback policy, it's the potential for buyer fraud that has me a bit spooked....word gets out on that side of the fence too , we have some real shysters who lurk here I'm sure

Just to get a good "neg" out of my system I wanted to leave one that would curl his hair for one slimeball I dealt with (with a 100% feedback btw) I bought from about a month ago, but he was axed from eBay. Now I can't even find him or the items. To top it off, I got an email from him yesterday reminding me to pay...again!

I attempted to leave negative feedback for a seller that deserved it. I waited till the 90 days were almost up. eBay said it was too late for feedback.

Can you auction your feedback? (free shipping and handling)
ps. I bet you wouldn't get a neg on the sale.
