10 to 1 it has surface issues. Not many coins THAT nice that arent in slabs already. Dont get me wrong, there are nice, original coins still in the buff out there, but IMO this isnt one of them.

Cleaned, dipped, or whatever, it will NOT grade at PCGS guaranteed.

The color is not original, although its common to come across examples of this date with extremely strong strikes and those die cracks.

Randall Hoards don't look like that.

That's the N-13 variety. It's as common as dirt in Unc. That color doesn't appear to be natural & I'll also bet it won't slab. Old copper doesn't look like that & I've seen enough of it to know what I am talking about. The price is also obscene. It has some spotting. I paid $700 for a PC 5 BN one of these six years ago. I don't imagine it has gone up in value a great deal since then.

it is pretty but there's a reason it's not slabbed. I would say around 500 bucks I wouldn't care if it would slab or not, I'd be in.

That coin has been a topic here at least once before, maybe twice. Color appears unique.

A very unnatural color hence it will not grade at PCGS/NGC. Although it is a very common coin in uncirculated, it is a cool variety never-the-less. The price is obscene.

Value about $200-$300 in that condition, or less.

I'll bet Dennis's looked something like this

    And no, not $1500.00.
Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.

The ebay lot in question looks like it was certainly stripped at one point and would likely bag at NGC or PCGS. However, the 1820 large cent is a famous cent because of the Randall Hoard, which had many large cents of this date. Typically, the pieces that have not been disturbed either have pronounced spotting or light, mild spotting and are generally much deeper in color. Here is one that I own-

I've seen many a nice 1820, but that first example in that auction is totally bogus color. Here's one I was a bit too slow in picking up, it was in an old fat NGC slab, MS-64 RB. image
