The only thing - and I do mean ONLY - the enemy understands is force - SUPERIOR FORCE.. used mercilessly and swiftly. No one can fight a civilized war... there is no such thing. Our biggest fault is trying to do so. It was not even considered in WW1 or WW2..... The motto has to be 'Crush the enemy and all associated'... that is the only way to stop the madness. We will learn this... but it may be a lesson too late.

I remember getting up that day and finding out about the attacks by the very thread posted (and others posted). Turned on the TV and watched it unfold. Truly a day I will never forget.

I'm glad you posted this "real-time" story.

It just so happens, that the kids in my class are all creating 9/11 projects highlighting heroic actions of the day.

This gives me great retrospect to share with the class.

I'm with Ricko, 100%. We have the capability to drive the point home, and we act like we can somehow influence the minds of an entirely foreign and bizzare thought process. It appears that we are making the mistake of thinking that they are like us. Bad mistake. I think it's time that everyone realizes it is a religious war.

Edited to add: Coin-related, a commemorative coin should have been authorized pronto. Why wasn't it? It only took Frank Gasparro a couple of months to do the Kennedy design and the Mint released them in the Spring of '64. You have to wonder why 9-11 wasn't "important" enough to remember in a coin.

For starters everyone should click on my3cents link and watch the documentary. I'm not a conspiracy nut, but they did a "heckuva job Brownie" on this to quote our Prexy. It's a full-length movie, but worth the time.

Second, Ricko, there's a part of me that wants to blow the Middle East back to the Stone Age, but that would be a waste of ammo because they're already there. But somehow the thought of unleashing our Nuclear Arsenal to turn their deserts into glass just to extract our oil from beneath their sands, I find disturbing. Iraq is Bush's war, so said Colin Powell: "If you break it you own it". bin Laden is in Afghanistan and that is where al Qaida trained and where they attacked us from. Iraq had nothing to do with it. Unfortunately there is little of anything valuable in Afghanistan.

On a coin-related note, how do you feel about the ban on Cypriotic coins in the U.S.?

And even sadder is that President Bush hasn't gotten Bin Laden and doesn't think about him or put much thought toward him.

How could the leader of our Country NOT commit everything we have to get this guy?? How embarrassing. Bush has shown you can attack the U.S. and still live to tell your grand kids about it, basically that we won't do anything about it.

I'll never forget seeing the tape of Bin Laden saying how the attack went better then they thought it would. He was so pleased with himself.

Lets hope the next President isn't such a wuss.

I have yet to understand the reason behind the 'Loose Change' documentary. That is so far fetched. Like proclaiming the sun doesn't exist because it was overcast one day. Good thing I've got my tinfoil hat and my 250 MPG carburetor to protect me

I agree. The world was with us after 9/11 until it became all about Iraq, which had nothing to do with 9/11. Talk about squandering good-will. The folks at "Loose Change" at least provide a provocative look at possibilites other than the "Official" Bush neo-con interpretation of events and should be heeded. You should remove your tinfoil hat and maybe you'll open your mind to more than the RNC talking points.

Did I just hear another initiative to put Reagan on the Dime instead of FDR, keeping it strictly coin-related?

What I hate is the fact that one side wants to blame the other. The Dems blame the Republicans and the Republicans blame the Democrats. We are all Americans and blaming one political side or the other couldn't play more into the enemies hands.

What happened to the unity we saw in the first few weeks after the attacks? Lets put the blame where it should be...on the radical Muslims that want to see us destroyed. Lets not help them!

Well said. The war is against Militant Islam, or Islamofascism. Since President Bush isn't up for re-election, I don't care what the libs think of him. He saw the threat, and we as a nation will be at war with this enemy for as long as it takes. The surge has worked, troops will be pulled back, and then Iran is next. Anyone notice that Israel bombed a Syrian missle site the other day that was built by Iran and had nuclear components from North Korea? That's the Axis of Evil, remember? This is going to be a long road we travel, beginning September 11, 2001. We will do it for those who were lost, and we will never forget.

How can you compare a car bomb going off in a parking garage to airliners hitting the two towers, the Pentagon, and the fourth plane crashing, killing 3000 people and Bin Laden joking about it on a video tape ?? Get some perspective.

Do you or Don't you want revenge and justice? Do you or Don't you want to see Bin Laden swinging from the gallows ? Pretty simple question with only two answers, Yes or No. Pick one.

Iraq gotten their revenge, when will the U.S. get theirs ??

It truly a shame that so many are trying to make money ofF the 9/11 with selling commeritive medals

The fact the important medals are not for sale but worn . Here is a list of some of them:: purple heart, silver star, bronze star with V and commendation medal with V.
As we sit at home with friends and family military members are over seas making sure we are safe.
