    adjustment marks on the reverse?

is that a centering dot i see on the reverse ;-)

man that coin had a nice strike. the 6 in the date seems to
jump right off the coin. lots of remaining luster, check!

marks are very unobtrusive. good eye appeal.

    au55.

i love it. please enter me into your giveaway.

    What fantastic early gold.

I really love the color; it looks like it has some nice greenish- orange skin.

I am finding out very quickly as I research old gold, that every piece has a degree of abrasive cleaning on it.
It is impossible to find one that doesn't. The key is to find the coins with the least amount of trouble to them.
I think that for 200 year old gold you did very well. I would be quite happy with a coin like this one for my own gold type set.

Splendid image of a very beautiful coin! image

I was just digging this one up from the depths.

I was wondering if the striations (more visible in the reverse) are adjustment marks?

If this coin was from "1906" I would be trashing it.

    Grade VF?
