I really love the color; it looks like it has some nice greenish- orange skin.
I am finding out very quickly as I research old gold, that every piece has a degree of abrasive cleaning on it. It is impossible to find one that doesn't. The key is to find the coins with the least amount of trouble to them. I think that for 200 year old gold you did very well. I would be quite happy with a coin like this one for my own gold type set.
Nice! A little lasering and putty will fix those pesky adjustment marks.

Is that a clash mark above the olive branch on the right, on the reverse?

I was wondering if the striations (more visible in the reverse) are adjustment marks?

Wow, quite a few old threads being dug up today. Yes, there are some adjustment marks on the reverse.

That's pretty cool... it adds character to an already very nice coin.
<< <i>give or take a year...and 2 weeks ago it was photographed by Mark Goodman...and two days ago it arrived at my doorstep.
If this coin was from "1906" I would be trashing it.
Grade VF?
