Don't you DARE even think about putting them in your pocket to jingle them. I mean it.
I knew it would happen.

Seriously, VERY COOL!
Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.
Really awesome set......congrats! I love 'em ALL!

Edited to add: Box of 20, HECK, I wish I had THAT box of 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
Your half dime is a show stopper.
That lot sure would put a crimp in my coin budget.

Great BST purchases completed with commoncents123, p8nt, blu62vette and Stuart. Great coin swaps completed with rah1959, eyoung429 and Zug. Top-notch consignment experience with Russ.
<< <i>Late last year, following the well-debated "box of 20" discussions, I decided to change my collecting habits and start a more focused collection. Not necessarily because the bulk of the experts recommended it, but because the thought of putting together a lesser number of related "WOW" coins appealed to me (WOW, of course, being a subjective response). After spending some time considering what coins Wowed me as I walked through the bourses, I decided to attempt a complete 18th Century US coinage set, beginning with the easier 5 coin flowing hair type set to get my feet wet. Well, the final coin in the flowing hair type set just showed up today and, seeing them all in one place, I can't help but wonder if any of these coins have jingled together in the same pocket before. Now, both my feet and appetite have been wetted ...
PS - Thanks Brandon
Outstanding. They are so nice I wanted to see them again near the top of the second page. I agree about the half dime too, it's fabulous. Any story connected with acquiring it or any of the coins for that matter that you'd care to share with us?

Makes me mad our Canadian coins only go back to 1858!!

"I only golf on days that end in 'Y'" (DE59)
Thanks for showing me a couple of these in person awhile back, now I can't wait to see the rest.

SeaEagleCoins: 11/14/54-4/5/12. Miss you Larry!
except that 1/2 dime. It sticks out like an NCSed (or equiv) sore thumb.
Congrats on the set!!
Now to expand that collection into all the main (1793-1800) 18th century U.S. coins.
Let's see, I have a 1795 FH Half, a......oh wait, thats it. Oh well, I don't want to sell all my collections right now for one coin. I may be purchasing a 1795 Half Dime this weekend, so we'll see what happens.
Anyway, that's an awesome array of coins.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
Stupendous!

You done did good there.
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.
<< <i>Very, very nice.....now what will you collect?
A complete 18th Century US set 1792-1799 all dates and coins
With regard to the half dime, some people love it and some people hate it. Has it been dipped? Likely, yes. However, it is an oddity amongst the early type coinage that I have encountered thus far ... the fields are mirrored like a prooflike Morgan. If it did not have the die characteristics of a LM-10, I would swear that it was a specimen that made it in to circulation. It must have come from a heck of a planchet ... plus, it is one of the few that I have seen that is completely devoid of adjustment marks. I'll pick up a 1794 half dime as well that, hopefully, with match the set a little better
On another side note, all of the coins except the Wreath cent came from Brandon @ Anaconda. The Wreath cent I actually made @ PCGS myself, cracked it out of a NGC VF25 holder, submitted it raw and it upgraded. I wasn't playing the crackout game, I just wanted it in PCGS plastic and didn't really care if it came back a lower grade because in hand it is gorgeous. I picked it up from MacIntosh at a local show ... we flipped a coin for the final price and he won (for once) but I was happy to pay full pop for it. The color of it in my photo is way off, in real life it looks more like the Chain cent ... I was using too many lights at the time.

Even the '92 Half Disme?
What an outstanding accomplishment brother! You must be very proud.
<< <i>Even the '92 Half Disme? >>
Absolutely ... even the 1792 disme if I can find another one. I was recently offered the disme below with an incredible pedigree and had agreed to buy it depending upon the grade it received from PCGS. Unfortunately for me, it came back way higher than we thought which more than doubled its price. I just could not justify that much money this early in my collecting "career" ... I need to build up a little more knowledge and experience first

Wow Fletcher, that is the nicest 1792 disme I have ever seen.
That one could be a centerpiece in any collection, but like you said...priced off the charts I am sure.
One thing, will that box of 20 hold all the US coins from the 18th Century?
U.S. Type Set
<< <i>One thing, will that box of 20 hold all the US coins from the 18th Century? >>
No ... there are 36, excluding the gold. For me, the "box of 20" is more of a collecting philosophy than a rule.
<< <i>whetted. >>
Yes and no ... my feet have been wetted and my appetite whetted. It was a play on words that I was trying to make that didn't really work because they are spelled differently ... I didn't think that anyone would notice
Great set, Fletch. Your Chain gives me wood.
