All the other ones were at $599.99 or $579.99. I saw that one last night and was really scratching my head since there were several other auctions for Martha 300+ cheaper. Stupid is as stupid does as they say. I just hope my order comes in and the price really goes that high consistently.

The next couple of weeks will show whether these are wanted or not. Too early to make any real determination if there is a collector base for these, but always hoping they will soar.

I agree completely on the 20th Anniversary silver sets. Everyone had ample opportunity to buy them.
But profiteering against some poor schmuck who may have been in a meeting, or on an airplane, or any number of things and was TOO late (because of all the flippers hoarding product) even though he came in only a few hours late is another matter.
IMO, as always, and your mileage and moral compass may vary.

I think these limits and low mintage caps are playing right into the hands of those sleazoids on the home shopping channels.
I suspect they are as much behind the quick sellout as anyone. If they can just block some guy from having access within *hours* of the product being made available, so they can screw him backwards and twice on Sunday, may be legal and it may be good capitalism but (IMO) poor business ethics.
I still think they probably had all their employees buy the max on company credit cards.
Wait until these things show up on HSN or CoinVault in MS70/PF70 slabs (I'll leave the TPG to your imagination) for $1k or some crazy price. You know it will happen, and then peoplw will head off to EBay or wherever and pay silly money...
I'm just hoping my measly order for 1 Unc MW got in there....

"the mint cancelled my order, therefore you don't need to pay". So they can resale it now for 999.99.

We're not talking about food during a famine, or water during a drought. Coins are a discretionary purchase, not a necessity of life. If these buyers want to pony up multiples of issue price for these that's their voluntary decision.
