I'm sure there is a 38-D out there that will end up in a 69 holder some day.

If you are talking about a 1913 only, I don't think it will happen. Type one's are too sculpted and Type two's relief are too shallow.

There is a PR69 1936. In fact, it's pictured in the PCGS grading book. It has very pretty colors.

Yeah, very pretty colors, almost as if they were painted on, if I recall correctlyimage

Now, a Buffalo Nickel graded MS69 would be something I would Love to see!

    Another one I love seeing is Solid's MS67 1938-D/S..., I know it's not a 69, but it sure is a pretty one.

It would have to be a 1938-D as has been mentioned....or maybe a 1936-D.....I saw one of those in MS68 that I could not find any marks at all on the coin!

Anything is possible, but if there's another MS69, I don't think it will be a raw coin. Think about it. It will be one that is cracked out, which makes me cast a jaded eye at the whole notion.

I wonder if the owner of the MS69 will crack out and resumbit, trying to get MS70. Imagine the irony if that colorful dude came back AT the second time aroundimage

Here's a coin I had for 5 yrs in the vault then ED talked me into submiting it in Baltimore last yr . Two well known crackout guys said I was stupid, yes stupid you'll never get ms 68, PCGS hasen't given out ms 68s in yrs. First shot it came back ms68. David Hall always said when it comes to grading coins add one point for ownership. So in my eyes it's an ms69imageimage

So if you sell it to me, will it become MS70?

    Thanks, 66RB...I don't care if it's only a 67 - I like this one, too! image

I would agree with the consensus, that if a 69 is ever made, it will be a 38-D.

If grade inflation is true, MS69 is inevitable.

Russ - As I recall, the "maker" of this piece admitted the coin had been enhanced although it honestly would have fooled me.

i can see this happening real soon and i feel it is going to be my 1935p that i bought in long beach in the latest heritage auction. it has a full srike and absolutely no hits.image this coin will be submitted in batimore, i got caitlens 13d type1- pop of 2 and none finer, to upgrade to a 68 last summer ,so why not the first ms69. if there ever is to be a ms69 i beleive it will be a hammered 30,s mint coin.

If you want an ms69 slabbed buffalo there is one on ebay right now, slabbed BY SGS. (Star Grading Service) And, NTC has slabbed two ms69 buffaloes which sold on ebay for a bit over three hundred dollars. I am waiting for the first slabbed mS70 buffalo. If you can't find or cannot afford a Hertz or Avis ms68 buffalo they are always for sale on ebay in other grading service holders. BUFFNIXX

If you get your MS68 buffs stickerized by the CAC it will be just as good as a 69.
